Thanks Sean lol! Sometimes I feel I just add a vehicle to my mud model!
Good job Viktor, I've never seen one of those built before.

Almost done with the SdKfz 222. Just adding a bit of mud and grime. For an old kit this went together pretty well. Just a shame it's not very detailed.
The lost windshield arrived for the Kubelwagen, so I hope to have the lot done this week.

I might not finish this one on time... damn.
Tomorrow I'll try to finish the other side.
Repaint & wash tracks and adding the fenders during the weekend would be a dream ...
A few extra days would sound great

Nicely done, Jay.
With that much mud in the tire treads, shouldn't there be a little splattered on the hull as well?
Congrats on finishing before the deadline.
Cheers,
Dick

Thanks Dick,
Was going for a caked mud effect left on the tire groves and the rest of the mud on the chassis has fallen off running of dry condition... hehe, making excuses.
This is the fastest one I've done so far even for an OOTB build. Joining campaigns is a good motivation I reckon.
Cheers,
Jay

Hallo again, it's been a while.
Even though there has been no progress from me for a while now, i've been following this thread and keep being impressed by the builds here!
Of course, as with a lot of my builds, i got sidetracked with my entry for this campaign. Home, Work, other models, the usual really. And though i want to finish the Universal Carrier, i didn't like the idea of rushing to finish it in time. I didn't like the idea of giving up either. So i decided on a different course of action: just start another kit
Now this may sound a little crazy, but bear with me. The kit i decided to start was the Matchbox Humber Mk.II, a British scoutcar, but this time in 1:76 scale. And that's the secret: the small scale. It would be a quick build. And i decided i wouldn't post pictures untill it's done, just in case i didn't finish it in time either
But i got it done, so here goes!
First off, the Univeral Carrier as it is now:
The interior more or less done, the figures primed but nothing more than that. I'll keep working on it and start a new thread for it outside the campaign.
And then the new effort. A turbo-report for a quick build.
As i said, it's the old Matchbox purple series. Kit PK-75 : Humber Mk. II Armoured Car. Originally from 1974. Currently available from Revell.
The box:
The contents in it's glorious 2 color plastic. That's the beauty of the old kit. The newer Revell issues of the Matchbox kits come in one color, but this one is in 2 colors
And like is said: a quick build. A few hours later and this is the result.
A size comparison shot:
It's tiny. And i noticed the years haven't been kind. When i was a kid i built this kit in a few hours, painted it and the figure with a brush and Humbrol paint. All without needing glasses
But it's still a great kit and a quick, fun little build. Very highly recommended!!
Next month at the modelling club i'll probably get some usefull comments. Perhaps a few can be applied to this kit, otherwise i'll use them on the next build. For this campaign i'll call it done
I noticed on the pictures that the tires could use a bit if dusting and the base can do with some drybrushing and pigments. The kit in real-life (r) looks much better than the unforgiving close-up photo.
Just in time
