"Anthrozit-grau" may have been the dark gray used in that brown-over-gray scheme from 1938 - 1940. Reputed by some to have been darker than that dunkelgrau used per regs from JUL 1940 into early 1943.

For what it may be worth, I think the Vallejo "German Grey" looks pretty nice right as a "dunkelgrau" from the bottle, and has a bit of blueness - all to the good. It MAY be a little dark for a "typical" dunkelgrau job and perhaps wants a slight fading to lighten up a bit. I plan on doing a light wash of this mixed with some beige or white to give some fading on my Pz. II J before I move on to do the camo (probably with something like a "gelbbraun" or "light khaki" color.).

The straight Vallejo German grey may well be a good player for the next brown-over-grey early war panzer I do! Vallejo also offers a dark-looking German camo brown which may be appropriate or pretty close to that brown used in the 1938 scheme.

Cheers!

It's been a while but I think I'm call this complete as I have not had much time due to the birth of my daughter back in October. Had fun with this campaign and enjoyed other people builds. Now on the the stug campaign and hopefully complete that campaign in time while trying to be a new father.

Calling this done now, it's been one of my longest builds, what with interior and fixing lights inside and the figures. But happy with outcome.
I will take some more images for the gallery, battery ran out as I was taking these last ones.
Micheal Wittmanns Tiger 1 S04 with interior, and crew and ground crew on winter base.

some sepia images

I will get the new images on the gallery asap.

great work on that tiger, would love to do some work on the B&W photos, add some noise, some "damage" you could get close to "I was there, this is theoriginal photo i carried with me"....

Thanks Robert glad you like it. As far as skills go just keep building buddy, and it will come to you. I am sure you are capable of something equally good.

Thanks Alvaro.

Still can't upload my pictures to the gallery. Any suggestions?
I even deleted some of my photos from my account so there was enough room.

There is a size limit of photos in the gallery, they can only be 800x600 or smaller. I use paint.net to down size my pics. It is a free program and easy to use. There are others which can do the same thing. This should help you with your situation.

IF you have Microsoft Office, you will most likely have the Microsoft Picture Manager, which allows you to do many things, including lots of simple and some more-complex "photo-correction and editing", including cropping, darkening, color-shifts, etc. It also supports a very quick and easy size-reduction tool.

Hi everyone!

Here is my entry and I hope you all like it. One of my first attempt at armor modelling and weathering using my favorite tank. It was an awesome build and I learned so much!

Recently, I donated this model to a charity auction hosted by Department of Immunology, University of Toronto. Lots of my friends were interested but a professor's husband bought it.

Thanks for the replies re the photos, I ended up taking pics with my phone, not ideal but never had a problem before, and they uploaded fine. So file size must have been the issue.

My Italeri IV H is at the stage I usually get hung up at, base coat on but needing camo. I know each crew painted their own tank, and it would seem they look similar within a platoon at least; but would the entire division or battalion be wearing the same type of scheme? E.g. 2nd panzer division 8th company wears green/brown stripes and spots, but would 6th company necessarily have the same type of pattern?

Getting real close to the end date of this campaign now. Feeling the pressure to get the build done.

Took this photo after mounting the left tracks and I've since mounted the right tracks. Didn't add pigments to the drive sprockets since I knew I had to fiddle with those when putting on the tracks. Same with return rollers. Those parts will get the pigment treatment tomorrow.

Satisfied with the overall weathering, might do some reduction on the area below the turret.

The weathering mimics operations in the spring/early summer in Norway.
