I did a tiny amount of work on the Wiesel, mostly paint and cleaning up some of the road wheels. Still need to get paint on the idlers and return rollers, but it's a start.

I am down to adding the final details, tools etc onto my Valentine, and just need to paint the tracks and attach them.
But struggling to find the time now that I have returned to uni.
Hopefully I can get a bit done on Monday arvo after classes, and Tuesday might even see it finished if I am lucky.

Not as close to finishing as I hoped. My replacement tracks finally turned up so I will be using them for the campaign.
Between my wife, our toddler and myself all having the flu, my day off was not as productive as it might have been.
I did however manage to turn this:
Into this:
The road wheels were already completed, and are just awaiting installation after I touch up the tyre paint.
The tracks are Bronco workable links, the same as on my Bishop kit. I used the left over links from the bishop to check that they would fit the AFV Club drive sprocket before buying them. I will assemble them into 4 half track lengths before painting and installation.
They are time consuming to clean up and assemble, and I don't know how they compare to other brands, but they were the cheapest option I could source at the time.

After much house painting I am again making progress on the Australian MRV. I had a problem with the green paint for the 3-color camo. After finishing the camo on the hull, I temporarily positioned the turret, swim vane and swim skirts to mark matching camo pattern. But after I finished the three colors, the green had more brown in it than the green on the hull. I repainted the green on the hull with paint I used on the other parts (I am sure I used same can for all part). There was just too little contrast between the dark green and black. After stripping the paint I have decided to tryout the hairspray technique so I can add wear and tear. So far I had added prime and a coat of semi-gloss aluminum to the vehicle. I am letting the current paint cure before adding a flat clear coat.

Okay, I'm done with this one. AFV 35116 Sd.Kfz 251/20 Ausf. D Uhu. This was built OOB except I added some wiring to the headlight and antenna socket, plus some to the IR gear in front of the driver viewport, and a couple of pieces on the floodlight itself. A reaction between my masking fluid and a wash almost ate up the plastic lens of the light, but I managed to salvage it with patience and Future floor acrylic. Paint is Tamiya acrylics under AK and Mig pigments, and graphite pencil. Mud is from Vallejo's new line, and having visions of this vehicle trying to force it's way through thick, black chewed-up turf I thought I'd give the stuff a try. Really needs the context of a display base with groundwork, I feel.
This kit was a bit fiddlier than the Dragon 251 I just built, and I definitely prefer the Magic Tracks to AFV's vinyl belt. I will probably swap them out later for indy links. Overall nice detail although much is hidden by the bulkhead. I know this kit is not accurate, but I already have plans to build another later on with the fixes.

I think it's funny how out of all the Sd.Kfz 251 variants we ended up with two pairs of the same type being built.
