Stefan, good job on your Quad tractor. You have done a good job on the "mickey mouse ear" camouflage. This is harder to do, than it looks. I know I have tried
Yufkey, good job on the Hummer. It looks good with the mix between desert camouflage and the three colour camouflage.

Bah! You have done a fine job on your Quad. Don't be so hard on yourself. A minor suggestion for future models is that you may try to add a little sand color or even less white to the black to fade it. It stands out quite a bit. Black tends to fade quickly in use. What I'm seeing though may also just be an aftereffect of the camera flash.
Hi Jeff and Jesper!
Thanks for the feedback!
I agree that the model should be a bit more sandy and dusty!
In those pics the contrast between sand and black is more stark then in reality, due to the "flash-effect", but It´s too stark indeed.
I brush-painted straight black onto the model for the camouflage effect and intended to air-brush some clear/sand coats to tone things down.
But I forgot....
Cheers!

Front axle,then some trailer work.
I added strips of plastic to enclose the hinge, and make it positionable,if I build a tank for a dio,and want to show it being loaded on.

I have decided to enlist on this one. I will be doing a kubelwagen. I originally got the kit for the Rommel figure, and never used the figure. I just started on it today, and dont expect it to take long. I also have the engine and mechanics kit for it, so I will be adding the engine to it. Since the kit comes with the balloon tires, it will be painted desert yellow. Not able to take pictures because of the rainy weather. But I will snap some in the next day or so, if it isn't finished by then.

So we have till December 1st right? Trying to finish my "Boom Stick" diorama first and then I will finish my Stryker. Ya know, technically my Abrams does have wheels and they are covered in a thin layer of rubber you might call a tire. LOL.

I have also finished this campaign with the excellent Tamiya 1/35 Kubelwagen.
Fun build. Took 3 days, but I'm really slow. Most modelers could probably finish it in two sittings. I added the engine and mechanics kit. Thanks for a fun campaign.

Bob and Carl, I really like both. Carl, the chipped paint around the doors is great. Bob, the canvas looks very real.

Great work so far, nice models!
I hope I can make it on time, grad school and my certificate exams are taking too much of my time. However I managed to put the paint job on my Opel Blitz. It looks strange, first time I tried camouflage like this (I usually prefer three colors for German vehicles):
I will try and finish it on time. Now that the paint job is done, I need to attach the wheels and start weathering...

Great Kubelwagen, Carl. I will try to copy your scratching on my 1/48 Tamiya Kubelwagen.
Really neat paint job, Emre. Did you do it freehand?

Yep, as I hate masking, I have done it with freehand. I think I hate masking so much that I've greatly improved my freehand skill by practice (at least that's what the local modelers over here think). I should also state that I always "touch-up" the paint with the main color after I am done with the camouflage colors. This touch-up covers the oversprays and gives the camouflage patterns real soft, fading edges, which I like personally.

Looks great. And for a fraction the cost of a 1/35 scale DW.

Well here she is! My campaign contribution, this perhaps would be the smallest vehicle yet largest scale model so far in the campaign its my M-274 Mechanical Mule by Glencoe in 1/15 scale. I did not do much superdetailing on it like adding extra baggages and stuff on because I wanted to represent the vehicle on its own. Scratchbuilding was very minimal, I just added an extra kit bag on the drivers seat which was also covered with wet tissue, an extra railing bar on the right front side thats made out of bended paperclip, and I put a mesh screen under the drivers pedal station, I also sanded off the base ring for the 106mm recoiless rifle mount in the center of the platform. Now for all the rivet-counters out there, I know I know this is not a very acurate representation of the real thing and Im pretty sure you will find a lot of flaws in it so please be gentle on your critics. I did not have the time to do much reference research and this is a very old circa 1950's-60's model kit originaly from a company called ITC. The model material is made out of soft "toy soldier" plastic and not polystyrene so gluing and sanding was kinda difficult, and the whole kit was just riddled with extensive mold flashes as well those round airholes so the building process was kinda horrible yet fun....I guess. Lastly I just wanted to thank Jeff Edgar again for giving me permission to submit my model even though it was beyond the specified scale according to the original rules of this wonderful campaign, it really was a fun one!

Wow, looks like we've quite the progress being made. I've only been on a limited amount recently (thanks professors for all your awesome term papers ) but I've always been looking here, just haven't had time to respond to everything on this great site of ours. I'm gonna make this short and sweet so I can get back to writing about the Cuban Missile Crisis and I'll take a much more detailed look over Thanksgiving break as we begin to wrap up this great campaign. Ok, so lets see:
Andrew, your Kubelwagon is very well done. Kubel's and Opel's seem to be the most built this time around. The weathering seemed to
Carl, excellent Dragon Wagon. I always love seeing those. I noticed that you haven't weathered it and haven't added anything on the trailer; planning this for a dio?
Bob, your Couger is great! I'm glad to see the rare UN scheme. The crewmen are very well done. I even like the handrails and added wire.
Keith, it is great to see the GMC. Brings me back to the first Wheels campaign run by the famed Roo.
Pascal, it is amazing to see you in this third installment especially with such a diverse piece. I surely hope all of those aren't assembled ammo boxes, that must have taken forever. I hope Animal shows his face to see this.
Rei, your mule turned out great. I think I read somewhere that SF guys were using them even recently. Like I said, I had to start somewhere on the guidelines
Ok study break over. More to follow. 15 more days!
Jeff

It seems to early to speak, yet I might be needing an extension. My kit was disaster struck first by decals then by an episode of "thinner attaack!". With midterms and projects taking too much time (hey, I thought grad school is supposed to be easier!) I might be facing timing problems.
