Hi Mark and Emre
Thanks for your comments - I appreciate it. I also have a good feeling about this one, but still have a few things I will modify for the next model.
Regarding the mud there are some dirt/light mud texture both on fenders, wheels, front and back. However, it might not show so well in the pictures. The best picture where to see this texture is the picture of the back of the BT-42.
My idea was to show a vehicle with some dried dirt on it, but no mud as such, as most would have fallen of the vehicle over some days. However, the colour I chose for the dirt might have been too dark depending on the type of soil in the combat area. Well, I guess they have some places with dark coloured soil in Finland
Very fun to participate - a well run campaign so far!

I believe we can learn and improve with everything we build Jesper, so if we do its a good thing all round.

One is ready. I actually finished one in less than 2 months... Only the wires are missing from the launchers, but I haven't yet found any reference on them.
I keep running out of space, and forced to delete photos from previous campaigns. Does anybody have a solution for that? The allocated space is so limited, that after a while it'll be filled even if you upload the photos for your campaigns...

Andras, what vehicle is that? I understand it must have been captured by Germans to be used as a Stuka Zu Fuss, but I haven't seen anything like that except for Polish armored vehicles... Is that a Polish vehicle or something else entirely?

I'm not much of an armor guy, so I missed the start up for this campaign, and now I'm sorry I'd. Is it too late to join and since I noticed someone is doing the same thing I was thinking about (though a different variant)is duplication OK?

It's a Renault UE pressed into service. Mirage Hobby makes it -so it's kind of Polish

Hi Emre, if I'm right its a French vehicle, a Renault UE, the same thing Tamiya have just released.

Hi Andras.
Looking good - a nice little model
I would not like to go to war in that thing, but it would be better than carrying the rockets by manpower
By the way, a lot of these small tractors were used by the luftwaffe for handling planes, moving bombs etc. A large number was captured by the Germans after France fell.

Wow, some excellent progress on a lot of builds since I last checked this thread and a few new ones too. Excellent stuff everyone keep it up.
Work has stalled on my captured universal carrier, it's 95% done, and just needs adding to the base and a few finishing touches, stupidly though i've started work on my dingo kit instead of getting this one finished. I'll get it done next week I think as I have freinds staying this weekend so i'll be to busy drinking to get any modelling done!
Keep up the great work guys,
James

Thank you.
These things not only transported the rockets, but fired them too. But you're right -considering their limited range, I'd rather sit in something else.

Excellent work James, it looks real good with paint and markings on, and I'm looking forward to seeing it on the base.

Hi James
Great build, you have there. There are a lot of cool details on your conversion - very unique.
You have done a really good job on that one. It looks finished to me

It basically is finished, it just needs adding to its base and a few finishing touches.
Bill Plunk has persuaded me to write up an article on the build so keep your eyes out for that!
Good luck with all your builds,
James

I just joined up. I had been working on my KV-1 for a couple fo weeks and had orignally intended to give it a regular Soviet finish. But I have since switched my mind and decided to give it a Finnish finish.
So far everyones work has been great. I hope my finished Finnish KV-1 will fit in well.

I will try to get some pictures tonight of my progress thus far.
Posted: Wednesday, August 01, 2007 - 04:03 AM UTC
I finally got started on my entry. As a reminder I am building the Tamiya M8 Armored Car. I plan on showing it being used by the Germans.
So far I have assembled the under carriage and the wheels and have started the interior and exterior. I have the initial coat of flat white applied to the interior and just need to add and paint the few remaining pieces and the interior will be complete. Then I can start on the rest of the exterior.
I still need to decide if I want to use the side skirts or not. I have seen photos of them with, and without, being used by the Germans. I guess I will decide as I go.
I should have some more in-progress photos to post soon.
