WORKING WITH DRAWINGS
Planning I think this is the most important step for every model. There are a number of drawing programmes that can be used for this step such as Corel draw, freehand, adobe illustrator. I will draw all the pieces again with their views (front, sides and down or upper) before I use plotting paper, but the pieces had different measurements and I had to repeat the process two or three times. Now, all the pieces have the same measurements and I can use them to make my models with a great accuracy.

In these pictures you can see the different parts that I have drawn with these programs.

Testing Now that I have ready all the basic pieces that I need to begin the model. In this step we will prove our drawings.
The pieces, grouped by modules.

Remember when we were younger we would make paper models, in order to prove the pieces.

The paper model is ready and we can to see that all of the pieces fit correctly.

Cutting [IMG] 007, 008, 009
I print the drawings and glue these directly onto the plastic using a glue stick.

I mark the lines without cutting trough and I can then drill the holes for rivets, windows, etc.

Using my fingers, I eliminate the rest of the plastic. Later, I will remove the paper with water. Now, the pieces are ready for be glued.

Structures Now, I have the chassis. In this step, first I will cut the plastic pieces and they will be glued on the paper drawing with the glue stick. I can then cut the pieces exactly. Next I glue the pieces with Tamiya cement. The paper will absorb the rests of the glue. This can only be done with small surfaces.

That build blog was one of the absolute most informative sets of posts that I've ever read anywhere! I'm very glad the blog has been captured for posterity in a regular feature article. Not only is Pedro Andrada an extroidinarly talented model builder, he has a great eye for picking out the most instructive points in his build to share! A rare combination of characteristics. We were all very fortunate that he took the time and effort to document and explain his work so thoroughly! Thanks again, Pedro!

My deepest thanks again for sharing your work with us Pedro. If you ever wrote a book on this subject I'd buy it for certain. Hopefully I'll get some time this coming holiday season to try your techniques for myself. Cheers and all the best

Hi Pedro, You are a master, pure and simple. These two are my favorite from your impressive selection of scratchbuilds, the fact they are 1/72 is crazy. Best, Mike
