Soldering Photo Etched Parts
Another important technique to master is soldering Photo Etched parts. For this, we must understand and consider some important features of the tools used for this task.- Use a soldering iron that is not overly hot (14 W) and always keep the tip clean.
- Different metals require different temperature. Copper less than brass.
- The tin has a % of silver, the higher the % of silver the higher the heat needed. This is important because we can use tin with high % of plata in the ends and tin with less % of silver in the interior parts.
- If we interpose a metal piece (tweezers for example) between soldered pieces, we protect other soldered pieces as the tweezers work as a heat sink.

Simply a superb copiling of excellant tips and techniques, Pedro. I have followed the builds that led to this feature and it is wonderful to see it all in one place. Words are lacking to express my gratitude to you for providing this valuable resource.

That build blog was one of the absolute most informative sets of posts that I've ever read anywhere! I'm very glad the blog has been captured for posterity in a regular feature article.
Not only is Pedro Andrada an extroidinarly talented model builder, he has a great eye for picking out the most instructive points in his build to share! A rare combination of characteristics. We were all very fortunate that he took the time and effort to document and explain his work so thoroughly!
Thanks again, Pedro!

My deepest thanks again for sharing your work with us Pedro. If you ever wrote a book on this subject I'd buy it for certain.
Hopefully I'll get some time this coming holiday season to try your techniques for myself. Cheers and all the best

Hi Pedro,
You are a master, pure and simple. These two are my favorite from your impressive selection of scratchbuilds, the fact they are 1/72 is crazy.
Best,
Mike
