Excellent choice for a build Andrzej!

And I agree, that double barreled Russian beast does seem a bit impractical. But it's pretty darned cool!

Jesper,
I'd really appreciate your support - if you could find any pics of original vehicle (I've found mostly pictures of models) it would really help me in building this one...
I think that these vehicles were used mostly in Normandy and Pickardy so it is highly possible that you've seen them right there...
I have few pictures of stand-alone rocket lounchers used by Germans during Warsaw Uprising (this louncher was called "Moowing Cow" by Polish sodlers because of the sound generated by flying rocket; I've seen somewher a poster with writing "When cow moos - run for cover!")

Hi Nick,

good to have you onboard . Jesper has pointed you in the right direction for the sign up area.

you'll see the running dates there as well, but is is actually August 1 thru January 31. I couldn't possibly expect people to be finishing their builds up just before new years! (i know i wouldn't manage that anyway)

if you want to make a separate build thread for your build, please do, but you can also post updates in the official campaign thread (which does not exist yet - this thread is just the proposal and pre-chat area I guess) as well.

no worries about skill levels, most of us are more than happy to support someone new to armor modeling I think. Just ask for advice anytime you like!

I went ahead and ordered a BM-8-24 SP Rocket Launcher from Squadron, so that will be my entry.

a gallery with pics of the Renault UE chassis can be found here

that doesn't help with the rocket superstructure though.

here we go:

apparently they had a version with the rockets mounted on the side too:

Great pics Vance, thank you for posting them! Not often I see pictures that were almost exactly redrawn for model-box cover purposes .

Thanks again!

Hi All,

Start to build again after many many years and I like the campaign principle here.

I am planning to build the Russian 2S1 Gvozdika from Skif.

Nice to be back.

I might join, if I can get enough models built AND completed over the summer. The model would be one of the big guns:

Revell's PanzerHaubitze 2000;

if somebody has some spare ISAF decals, I might attempt a Dutch one as currently serving in Afghanistan...
Who knows, maybe with a formerly Dutch Canadian Leopard II A6 next to it...

Cheers,

Harm

Hi
Thinking of joining can I do a GMC or Dodge 2 1/2 ton with the multi launch rocket system in the cargo bed ( believe they were used in the haurtgen forest.) similar to what the Russians did with the Katy.

Well,

I received my PanzerHaubitze yesterday... and is this thing HUGE!!!! (yes, I had a quick look at what is in the box). I am starting to understand why it has been nicknamed the 'Beasts of Tarin Kowt' by those on the receiving end of its punch...

So right now I am looking for anyone with additional pictures of the vehicle as it is serving in Uruzgan. I know it has the additional armor attached to it, but so far I have been unable to find any decent pics of how it looks... and the layout of the extra armor panels on the vehicle.

Cheers,

Harm
