3.5 days left till this campaign starts!

does anyone know how to get the "official" campaign thread started - do I just start it and get one of the administrators to make it a sticky thread?

I'll be picking up the Alan Grille M at my next club meeting (mid-July). I want to give it a good looking over to see if I want to tackle it. However, if the kit looks like a bit O' aftermarket and elbow grease can turn it into something reasonable, then I'll take the plunge (I've never done a campaign before).

I'm in the middle of one of those right now.

my goal is to finish it before dragon releases a mold of it (which would be easy for them given their considerable 38(t) series).

it builds up decent OTB, but it can be made great with a fair bit of extra work.

I also used extra road wheels from the dragon gepard flakpanzer kit - the Alan ones blow.

Vance:

Just thought that I should follow-up and let you know that I'll be sitting this one out... When I picked up the Alan kit, the entire hull had been built (and not well, either). So, the Grille project has grown. I guess my plan it to use the Tamiya Marder III M as the base, and then use bits of the Alan kit and Eduard sets (and maybe some scratch building) to do my Grille (probably grabbing the TMD SiG 33, as well). I'm also toying with the idea of seeing if I can get the Tristar 38(t) interior to fit in the Tamiya hull. Since this project has sort of spiralled out of control, I think that I want to take my time and do some research. I will definitely poke my head in at the campaign thread to follow all the progress. Good luck to you, Vance, and to everyone else who's particpating.

Wow... that is quite a plan you have there! Are you sure you shouldn't just wait for the Dragon release of this vehicle? It might be cheaper...

Anyway, sorry to hear you are pulling out. =(

Cheaper? Sure, but not half as much fun! Good luck with finishing your Grille.

Ok, well it is August 1st somewhere in the world by now I think, so this campaign has begun!

We have 50 people signed up too!

I started an official campaign there here, so please post your campaign related stuff there from now on.

hopefully some administrator will see it soon and make it a sticky thread. (or do I need to send a PM to one of them?)
