Thanks Frenchy
This is really great help for the suspension.
Cool, I need to talk to my contact to Trumpeter so solve this.
I am not gonna steel the suspension from the M1117

Bill, if i can have a spare kit, i will let you know.
Cheers
Seb

Well now my dream is real

Check this out
YOu like it I love it

It is a good starting point you need to scratch the spring to fit the dimension of the Bushie.

Hmmm
if the Kogsberg is too heavy for the roof of the Bushie then how is it mounted there? Bill

Quoted Text

Bill, I will double check on the reason and get back to you mate.

Jason

The bushie version is smaller, it's pretty much used for weapons like the Mag58, the Aslav version mounted on type II & III (PC's, Ambo, Command, Fitters and Recovery) takes the .50 Cal and Mk19 granade launcher

As for the Australian army now having two types of item to do the same job, don't go there, thats a path every Aussie soldier asks... why do we have a Detoit Desiel 6V engine in the Lav's and Cat V8 in the Bushie and a Merc V6 in the M113AS4 when all three are a similar weight and designed to do a similar task...

Rock on! Now we're talking. Have you checked the M1078 wheels for dimension on the M1117 suspension? I don't know if they are a similar pattern or size but if they were we'd have options in resin for BM wheels. Perhaps I'll get my BM out of the box. There may be light at the end of the tunnel after all. Now watch Trumpy make a Bushie!
Ryan
Thanks for answering that one. It is very much like here in Canada. We have gone metric years ago but a lot of our car imports are from the US (not so much now) snow machines, ATV etc have a mix of metric and imperial so out tool boxes have double the wrenches and sockets.

Bill
thanks for the comment.
I talk to you this week end
concerning dimension issue I dont see any we are talking of about 1~2 inches difference at 1:1 scale.
Concerning the pattern the one from the M1078 and the M1117 are the same as well as the Bushie one so on that no issue.

If we can have the hub from Jim, we can sort you some stuff.
Let me get back to you on that
Cheers

Great build! I certainly hope some manufacturer comes out with a kit of this vehicle...as well as other 'wheeled' fighting vehicles. Quite a large gap in the plastic kits segment..

to bad you don't live in bendigo, Thales factory is here and bushmasters occasionly roam the city streets with 15th transport.

Cheers,
Mat

That is some fancy mold making and casting, good work, you should be proud. Now I am revisiting and I see most of your photos have vanished. How do you feel about the size of the resin wheels? They seem to fit well with your suspension. I'd like to see how the transition of the suspension and body work, can you snap a shot of the belly of the beast please.
I see other improvements since I last saw this project, hows about a new round of photos?
Merry Christmas Seb and perhaps 2010 we'll have our Bushies finished.

Definitely looks to be the same chassis but the wheels set-up is different : 2 x 3 wheels + 1 x 6 wheels on the front...

Only obvious (to me anyway) difference is the adjustable "wing for the wheel assemblies and the external suppost of the wheel set on the Blast version. Very doable though.

This image from the Blast web site, hope that is ok?

Well Bill
By spending 200 dollars in bags, backpaks, cases and more, it is possible to do it because the trailer is kind of big.
Does our aussies friends have intel on this trailer ???

You were right, but now it's 9:30 am here and I'm wide-awake at work All I've found so far is that the trailer pictured below and in Bill's last picture (on the right) appears to be called 8-ton trailer...
