There is a tread currently running on this site trying to gather views as to what figures we would like to see produced, I would like to speak up for those if us who like building modern kits in 1/35 scale.
I know that there are manufacturers out there who are producing a good selection of modern subjects (post WW2), I particularly like building Dragon kits and I look with envy at Dragons seemly endless release of German WW2 subjects which have taken modeling to new heights. I am also aware that Dragon has provided more allied subjects more recently.
As we have discussed here before these companies have to produce models which will sell and make a return for their large investment. Dragon have a superb range of modern vehicles in 1/72 (I’m not knocking this scale its great) I believe that dragon would make another killing if they produced some of their Humvees and Amtrac in 1/35. So here are some modern kits I would like to see in plastic.
More recent up-armoured Humvees and SF versions
Up-armoured Amtrac
Improved Bradley’s & M113 as used in OIF
Cargo Trucks
British Army Landrover’s
Iraq & Arab country vehicles
Civilian vehicles used by SF etc,
Israeli Merkavas and any off the many vehicles they have adopted
Are there any modern kits in the offering soon from any of the manufacturers.

I'd say: Fennek (Germany) and Centauro (Italy) both in 1:35. The latter is available only in resin, so I mean I would like to see plastic kits.
Well Trumpeter has announced a Centauro, hopefully we'll see it sooner rather than later!
To echo what some others have said:
Merkava 4 (rumored to be on the way from Academy)
Merk 3, like Jim C. said earlier, a three in one would be nice AFV Club

CV90
M1070 HET and trailer

that suspicious elusive 4 door silver, black or blue Opel sedan that i was always told to look out for, even though it was the number one car in Iraq
Is this the suspicious sedan in question?

Its called a vauxhall caviler over here and probably as common here as in Iraq.
i would like to see more civi vehicles for dioramas. And need i say it again LAND ROVERS LAND ROVERS LAND ROVERS.

Anything and eveything.
Of course i think there is a great need for Canadian armour.
Civilian vehicles would also be a very nice thing to have.
Manufacturers have to keep up with the times or this art,and I believe it's an art, will fade away with their profits.
If I see one more Tiger release I swear I'm gonna puke.
OK,I've vented.

Hi all
For me Centauro, FMTV ,stryker MGS, aav7 RAMS will be fine... and they come in close future in PLASTIC: yeahhhh!!!
-merkava 3 and 4
-AMX30
-T80 and T72B
-accurate BMP1/2 (2 in one)
-Land rover defender
-armored humvee (with new wheels) from Tamiya
-IDF 1982 version of the shot kal (centurion)
-any MRAP vehicles
...
Notice that dreaming about new models is easy but we'll have to buy them when they 'll come if we wants to see more and more modern models.
Regards
stéphane

Lots of Humvees and modern landrovers. Actually, any modern 4x4.
The full range of strykers as kits, not the expensive after market conversions (why is there no AA version?)
And the A1117 Guardian!

I've wanted a Centauro, a V-150 Commando and a PT-76 for a long time, and I'm so glad that they've finally been released/announced that it's hard to think of what other vehicles I'd like to see. Some British AFVs, maybe, especially the Land Rover.
What I would really love in 1/35th are new figures, particularly modern tank riders. Especially guerrillas or militiamen, or soldiers from countries that don't have a lot of APCs and have to have their men hitch a ride into battle on tanks, like the Soviets did during the GPW.
Also, the aftermarket decal companies should take a break from printing endless World War II German panzer sheets and US and British Commonwealth Sherman sheets and do something for us modern armor guys. Vietnam War subjects would be great, Army, USMC, ARVN and PAVN, it's all good. Africa and the Middle East, especially the Iran-Iraq War, and present-day Iraqi and Afghan vehicles would be nice, too.

I would like to see
Stryker MGS (I love that turret and 105mm gun)
The latest Up Armored M1114 with all the HID lights and trimmings I am seeing now
A decent model of the 5ton truck as resin is too expensive
the new MRAP from International
A ZSU-23-4 with some good detail on the guns, I didn't like the one from Dragon, all four guns lean into each other

Some good suggestions. I'd like to add:
1) The MBT-70 - one of those is at Ft. Knox.
2) The Indian Vijayanta or Arjun tanks
3) the Patton "funnies": AVLB, AVLM, Panther, M728 CEV
4) Tamiya could take their excellent T-55 and turn out a decent T-54, T-59, and so forth.
5) A Centurian Marksman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centurion_Marksman) - or even just the turret!
6) An M60-2000 (http://www.patton-mania.com/M60_Patton/M60_the_real_thing/m60-2000.jpg) - how easy would that be!
And I'm still waiting for a T-28 Super Heavy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-28_Super_Heavy_Tank) - how hard would it be to send a team to Ft. Knox to measure it?!?

I'd really like to see the following done well in plastic.
T-90 T-80 BMP-3
Merkava 3 and/or 4
MRAPS
Quite a number of other modelers already mentioned them here and in other similar forums. I'm adding my request to the list. Hey manufacturers there is indeed a very good demand for these kits!

I personally would like to see:
1. A plastic LAV III, so i can afford it
2. A couple of special forces land rovers
3. also a RPX 90
4. and lastly a M578 in plastic, no resin
I'd be one happy camper if these kits came out!

It has a South African feel to me. It looks like it would fit in alongside a Ratel pretty well.
