There is a tread currently running on this site trying to gather views as to what figures we would like to see produced, I would like to speak up for those if us who like building modern kits in 1/35 scale.
I know that there are manufacturers out there who are producing a good selection of modern subjects (post WW2), I particularly like building Dragon kits and I look with envy at Dragons seemly endless release of German WW2 subjects which have taken modeling to new heights. I am also aware that Dragon has provided more allied subjects more recently.
As we have discussed here before these companies have to produce models which will sell and make a return for their large investment. Dragon have a superb range of modern vehicles in 1/72 (I’m not knocking this scale its great) I believe that dragon would make another killing if they produced some of their Humvees and Amtrac in 1/35. So here are some modern kits I would like to see in plastic.

More recent up-armoured Humvees and SF versions
Up-armoured Amtrac
Improved Bradley’s & M113 as used in OIF
Cargo Trucks
British Army Landrover’s
Iraq & Arab country vehicles
Civilian vehicles used by SF etc,
Israeli Merkavas and any off the many vehicles they have adopted

Are there any modern kits in the offering soon from any of the manufacturers.

Yeah I’d like to see more transportation vehicles/cargo haulers used today. I also would like to see some engineer vehicles and equipment. Addition to that a line of generators, water buffalos, radar/radio equipment would be great.

I agree with all what you've said.. and IN PLASTIC so I can afford them.

Updated armoured HUMMER
Updated Bradley and M113 as in OIF
More trucks
Italian Centauro (there was news a while back about Trump doing one.. hope it's true)
Some special ops vehicles like the German WOLF (Revell's is the short wheel base model)
DEFINITLEY Land Rovers in various versions (Again... IN PLASTIC)
Merkava IV(Hope the news about Academy coming out with one soon was true)
PLEASE... some civilian cars and 4X4's(Like MIG's technicals, but in affordable plastic)
Updated(and/or retooled) Russian vehicles which can be used as Arab army vehicles

If only a few of these wishes come true I would be happy!

I agree with the upgrade Humvee and Merk IV requests. I'd also like to see (in plastic) some more modern air defense systems - either a 2S6 Tunguska (I know 5 star has a resin one - $$$):

or a Pantsyr S1:

Mainly 'cause I think they look cool!

I would like newly tooled Russian Armor. Tanks like T-90, proper BMPs and new BRDMs, rather than the "medieval-age" old dog DMLs.

Land-Rovers... Yes, how come there are no Defenders around while so many armed forces employ them?

Trucks... definitely. Modern trucks are only a handful, with few in Revell, fewer in Italeri and some in ex-USSR manufacturers.

The latest "Styrker Frenzy" should show major manufacturers that there's a market for modern goodies, am I wrong? Or else, how many more King Tigers and Tigers and variants of the Panther can you have?

Id like to see a British MLRS. I know there are a couple of Dragon ones but they certainly are not the British model. British MLRS have a stowage cage fitted for exercises and operations. The antenna bases are different so are the fire extinguishers. I know its only minor differences but they stand out a mile!!

LAND ROVERS!!!!!

T-90, modernized T-72s, and latest Merkavas for me.

I don´t have any confidence in seeing a model of it, but a Pz61/68 would be nice - I dream Trumpeter maybe will make one day-. Also an Alvis Saladin would be good.

Dragon concentrates on German armour as it´s the mainstay of the armour modelling today, with some US modern vehicles -incedentally among the less interesting for me, I supposse I´ve bad luck-. I have more hopes in Trumpeter, AFV Club or Tamiya.

I would also be happy about the earlier versions of a T-72/80 and a better quality T-64. Also a Merkava family would be nice and an AMX-30 family.

Russian armor. Accurate ones
Also the Soviet built a huge variety of weird vehicles based on them. I know, there's the resin kit option, but it's $$$.

well i would like to see some of the vehicle the Norwegian army uses today, like the cv 9030, and the gerlanderwagen ( the one with the long wheel suspension ). maybe a BV 206 or a NM 204. and the SUSI.
there is a gerlanderwagen kit out there, from revel i think, but it got the short wheel suspension.
a Volvo "Felt" or L3314N would also be nice, but that ain't modern anymore

Since Modern Armor is considered post WW2.

1. T-62 a good one, at least of the quality of Tamiya's t-55
2. M103--US Heavy Tank
3. I could go for a tractor trailer 5 ton or 10 ton Viet Nam era
4. Saracen---that nifty 6 wheeled British armored car with the hex shaped body.
5, AVLB
6. CEV
7. M48a2---the gas burner

They have done to death Abrams, Leopards, and Challengers. There is also a wealth of Humvee's out there, maybe just a good quality OIF update set with armor and coupola stuff.

Thomas - an excellent choice ! I'll second it !

BV 206 (or the M973 SUSV as we in the US call them). We had them in my Recon Unit (very poor ride compared to M113's).

Anyway - Used by half dozen army's round the world - half dozen variants (flat bed, radar, C & C, mortar, medical, cargo, etc...). And funky looking too. How could they (the model companies) pass this one up ?

A really accurate M-2/M-3 A3 Bradley would be nice and also the Up-armored Hummer and of course some of the MRAP family members. Also would be interesting the spanish/austrian ICV Pizarro/Ulan, or the really new german ICV Puma. In softskins I would like to get some civilian vehicles, mainly to add some colour in dio´s about Middle East, Former Yugoslavia, Ulster, South America (I know that you can use the Volkswagen Beetle, with some modifications from the WWII version, but would be funnier to have the chance to elect).

Ok, the picture i was looking at WASNT a Landrover, but you might be interested.

it is an IDF 151a1 shimira jeep, 1/35th.
there is also an IDF m-113 armour.

check this link, the jeep is the 2nd pic on the page and the m113 is 3rd last on the page.

http://www.frontlinehobbies.com.au/Shop/productList.aspx?categoryID=401&parentID=400&catName=1:35%20MILITARY

guys, i must say, look through this site, it has all the good stuff, but in AUStralia.

www.frontlinehobbies.com.au

find your way to the 1/35th LAND (MILITARY) section, just search through the pages and there is TONES AND TONES of good models. some are a but pricey though.

i could probably find just about everything you guys listed in there.

there is also some other pretty mean vehicle too.
seriously recommend this site.

sorry if my 'style' of writing is hard to understand, but im in a bit of a rush to get to school
