I was just going to link that. Good news.
Btw, notice how that preview picture seems to show a bushmaster-equipped vehicle. I'm having high hopes it will make a Finnish-used CV with minimal amount of fiddling.

M.A.N support trucks 1/35
Warrior up armoured 1/35
Scimitar (updated kit??) 1/35
Moden figures (other than AA) 1/35
there all out =]
Thats just it james they aint out there unless you are prepared to spend dollar, And even AA subjects like the CVR family are out of date if you wanna build anything from OP Telic onwards as most CVR serving in Iraq and afghanistan have been through their life extension upgrades. Castoff did an LEP kit for the scimitar which was a good kit when it was finished but it was a pig to build.
The same with warrior, a good kit when it came out but dated now, the armour package has gone through so many upgrades that if u want a really up to date modern kit then get yer wallet out or get scratchbuilding.
Even trumpeter who have always been good for varied and affordable subjects only seem interested in the challenger with rumours that they are producing a generation 2 challenger 2 complete with Bar armour package for under £50 later on this year.
Im not knocking any of the resin manufacturers because i have been building modern british kits in resin or scratchbuilding for years but wouldnt it be nice just to spend £25 on an AFV club ARRV or WMIK instead of £80 on an accurate armour one. (Wishful thinking of course).
Its not a rant, just a point that i hope other people share.
PS liked yer thread on the bluntmobile

Sapper: I totally understand im a student some money is really tight
It would be great to see more figures in plastic and updated its without splashing out money or scratch building
but it is something your going to hope for. Not everyone is into modern biritsh armour or
modern armour in general so there isn't a high demand for them in plastic so model companies dont bother. okay there are petitions on sites like theses but not every company knows about armorama. whether you get htis of 300 of petitioins i dont honestly think its going to influence them heavily if at all.
it would be superb for all of them to be in plastic and upgraded to make the modern and up-to date AFV's lets just hope

I'd pretty much like to see AA and Cromwell modern catalogue made in plastic. AFV Club seem to slowly be doing that with their centurions and churchills. So my list
Warrior 512/513
Samson
CrARRV
Cent ARV
ChARRV
er there seems to be a theme there. Plus of course Landrovers, especially 90s and 110s, Bedfords MK and TMs
We can dream

Looks like Hobby Boss is going a long way to answer some of my wants. I wanted modern PLA (China) military vehicles. On their website they show the following kits as being amongst their ‘new releases’:
82434 ZLC2000 Airborne IFV (I already got via Hobby Easy)
82438 ZTZ 99 MBT
82439 ZTZ 99A MBT
82440 ZTZ 99B MBT
82453 ZBD-04
Hopefully, this is just the start of a beautiful thing. I would love to see a model of the Type 86G improved IFV, Type 92B HJ-9 ATGW launcher, BJ2020 series wheeled HJ-8 launcher, PGZ95 Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Artillery, ZDF89 tracked HJ-8 ATGW launcher just to name several more…..but so far it looks great!!!

Leopard PSO ....................
and a proper Leo 2A4 from Tamiya preferably, it is about time since half the world have them by now , as well as the cast turret Leo 1 variants with the B&V add on armor.
Since the Bergepz. 3 (Perfect Scale) should be coming out soon my wish list will have room for a new entry.
cheers

I'd like to see Dragon step up and release a USMC M1A1 based on their great AIM kit.
Up to date Humvees.
And my number 1 choice would be a COUGAR 4X4 or 6X6 MRAP with robot

jaymes I know it's been awhile since you posted this reply, but I've only just read it. I think you are abit wrong. By saying that not everyone isn't into british or modern is obviously correct, but that doesn't mean that the manufacturers shouldn't at least attempt to cater to the market that is. After all not everyone is into yank modern armour or isreali or soviet and there are thousands of plastic kits covering those subjects. Even if people aren't into the 'british' british modern stuff, then they could model the kit into many other nations modern stuff.
British arms companies are the 2nd biggest arms exporters, second only to America and billions of pounds ahead of 3rd place Russia. In 2007 we out exported the yanks with the help of a large aircraft sale to Saudi, and with BAE systems buying all the American arms companies it can, technically we could sell more than America in the not too distant future. This may not be that hard to do anyways, even without the yank companies in BAES, as over the last 5 years, the Yanks have sold $63 billion worth of kit, Brits $53 billion, Russia $33 billion with the frogs trying to catch up in 4th.
I don't mean to preach but i thought it might be worth noting.
Here's a modeling opportunity for someone into modern brit armour... Model 2 centurions; one as the appropriate version for the suez crisis and a cent avre for the 1st gulf conflict. The reason behind this is that the first centurion to be landed in the suez was also the first avre to cross into Iraq in the 1st gulf war. Although I don't know the registration of the cent, I have seen the pictures showing the reg plates in both conflicts.

The Jackel and the larger Coyote and the convertible 4-6 wheeled Extenda are made by a British company called SUPACAT based in Honiton, Devon. Google 'Supacat', They are mainly used by Infantry type units for a variety of roles including patroling and convoy protection
