Note how the pylon behind the gun is in different positions in each photo

The pic which you provided was taken at a different angle (more to the left as you look at it). Re the woman, do you have an image that can be shared?

John, don't hold you breath. There is no logical reason not to publish the picture. You want to argue about copyright infringement or publishing rights? Or maybe, cashing in on a big payday? Color or not, you ain't retiring off of what you think you'll get.

I'm a record collector. I know of other collectors who happened across extremely rare disks and refuse to even let anyone listen to their find, hoping to make a killing. No problem. Sooner or later, someone gets a hold of the master tapes and the song that some bum was squirreling away gets released in a compilation CD.

As far as the supposed color shot, keep it. Don't spread rumors of its existence. Keep it stashed inside of that shoebox locked away in your basement. Take it out once in a while, fondle it and think how gosh darn lucky you are to own it. Repeat Daffy Duck's famous "It's MINE! ALL MINE, you hear? ALL MINE!" It's not THAT important.

You really should check the facts before making a fool of yourself. Not content with making a complete ar*e of yourself by mixing up the B/W pic with the colour pic you continue digging.
The photo is not mine.
I do not own it.
I had to agree not to share it before I was given a copy.
I accepted the conditions.
I am not the only one with a copy and it is widely available among those who work in this area.
To help people out I gave a low res B/W version for comparison purposes.
Until such time as the owner decides what to do with it then you will just have to lump it.
Cautionary tale:
A few years back I was sent a manuscript of a book in preparation. A contact found out and asked if he could 'have a look' and he would not share it.
This 'contact' then made several copies and passed them around to make himself look important. All he did was prevent me from getting any more info from that author.
I will not be caught out again.

Please stop this stupid childish chatter. Three tone? Forget it. Why? I know from the guy who gave me this:

so please put the coloured pic directly to your trash bin

End of discussion.

Just to make clear so that even you can comprehend, "You" was used in a general context in reference to the person who claims to have possession/ownership of the original photo in question. The only portion of my post directly relating to you was about the photo of the woman and the KT. I simply asked if you have access to that particular picture. As far as making an ass of myself, I can't compete with your superior skills in that area. I was comparing the colorized image with the B&W in order to point out that the colorized one, which is commonly available on the internet, is an obvious fake. No more, no less. Like I said, whomever supposedly has this picture can keep it. Don't throw bones out to people who actually give a rat's patootie about its alleged existence. You're not the person of interest since you are not the alleged owner. So, before you decide to to get snarky with me, understand that you weren't the subject of my post. Although, you seem to be acting the same way that your "contact" was in that cautionary tale. Autobiographical, perhaps?

And Spitfire, you seem to be playing the "I'll let you see a little bit because I'm that kind of guy" game, too. That's nice you seem to have a copy of this color photo. Keep it to yourself unless you're prepared to post a complete view. Otherwise, you are engaging in a bit of childish behavior in the identical manner that the owner of the aforementioned photo is by refusing to allow publication or availability on the internet. This isn't the schematics for a W-88 nuclear warhead. It's just a damned picture. Czy masz coś inaczej wobec zawierać u ten podległy?

Yes it is obvious you are not interested in it!

Don't misconstrue my arguing about the impossibility of guesstimating colors from a B&W photo as having interest in a color version of the pic which you posted. The existence, or not, doesn't register on my list of priorities.

Thanks; but, I didn't need your help. You're stating the obvious; since, Google took care of that before you thought of doing so.

Well, until actual proof is provided, ie via publishing in a forthcoming book or by other means, its existence is nothing more than a red herring, an urban myth if you will, floating around in our little dysfunctional community. A snippet of an image purportedly from this color photo doesn't validate claims of authenticity. Some folks are more adept at photo manipulation than others.

Well, in the interest of those who would like to see it, put up or shut up, as the saying goes. Don't you just love colloquialisms? BTW, don't get your boxer shorts bunched up; that is directed at the owner of this color shot. You can't, as a matter of principle. That's understandable. A deal's a deal.

I know where and when it was posted so I have no need to rely on Google.

That cinches it. It exists wholly within the realm of rumor and innuendo because I'm in a great mood.

I haven't said I was in possession of the whole picture as I'm not. I got it after contacting a member of missing-linx who was claiming to have it. All he could / was allowed to give were these two bits of the pic. I have already posted them some tile ago here on armorama. I'm not playing any guy who knows everything as I'm not one but by chance KT is mine preferred subject of panzerwaffe so I may not know a lot of Panthers or pz IVs etc but I do know a bit about this tank.
Try to revise your polish as your phrase at the end does not make any sense (or change the on line translator LOL).

Actually, my Polish is quite good. It's spoken at home because my parents (from Wilno and Rohatyn) did and taught us. Typing a Polish phrase in the English box and hitting translate makes for pretty funny retranslations, sort of like linear Soduku. Or, more like an Enigma transmission.

Anyhow, like I told mkenny, I couldn't care less about the color image. My main point was that trying to interpret grayscale tones and assigning a real world color to it doesn't work unless you already know what the original color was. Too many colors reflect similar levels of red, blue and green light to make a definite assertion by comparison with something that appears as the same shade of gray.

BTW, I have a Japanese sniper, who doesn't know that the war is over, living in my basement. I'll trust you to keep this information confidential. you know how crazy the collectors' market is for stuff like this.
