Hi Guys,
Before this one slips off into oblivion, just a quick thank you to all who supported the campaign.
I haven't heard any positive feedback for a while, so I may have been on a beaten docket as we say in Ireland.
One last though connected to the trucks that I mentioned at the start of the thread is for some of the many and varied trailers to go with them
Maybe next year
Cheers
Al

Hey ,Mac! Looks like we'll see a really big British softskin coming if the Masterbox Horsa appears. Looks like this list does work, but who'd a thunk?
Anyway, the Horsa is great news, let's see what else comes along .

Hi Alan, not much into Brit stuff, but any softskins in plastic would be nice. Zvezda and Masterbox seem to be in the mix now with some German offerings. And you are right about the number of posters compared to the number who have looked. It was discouraging to see all the more members who voted for the model of the month contest when it was the biggest turnout in entries yet.
I may not always agree with the subjects the manufacturers build , but at least they are expanding the field for us to choose from. Now we just need to get their focus on new market areas. Softskins, Pacific theatre, other countries besides shermans and germans. I'd love to see Fine Molds do some more Japanese armor and then have some more US distributors handle them. Some Aussie variant vehicles would be nice, or some prewar armored cars from the different countries.
It would be nice to see some civilian vehicles done in 1/35th plastic as well. Wespe does some nice cars in resin, but the price is prohibitive here in the colonies. I'm getting tired of Dragon reboxing kits with a few new decals and calling them "beutepanzers" The same goes for the Cyber-Hobby offerings of these goofy "one off" panzers. I would like to see them spend some of their time and energy doing something new. I appreciate the SdKfz 7's they brought out, and the've covered every 250 and 251 variant, but lets move on to something with wheels that might not be as neat and spiffy, but still was essential to the war effort.
Okay, I got a little off track here, but count my vote in!

Hi Dave and Ed,
Yes, there is always hope . MB have a new staff acr shown be it all German. I'm please to see any new softskins Allied or British, but would most certainly prefer British.
Neil,
Sorry you're in completely the wrong thread this one is for British Softskins not Shermans
Cheers guys,
It's the thought that counts.

Please more Sherman variants there just arn't enough for me to model the particular one I want to.
Completely, Totally
There are many threads to discuss M4s - this clearly ISN'T one of them...
There is some hope on the horizon. Thre are a couple of Allied Artillery pieces on the horizon. The recent book on the Morris Quad (produced by a publisher who is closely-linked with SKP) MIGHT (just MIGHT) mean that something's in the pipeline. Fingers crossed?

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the update. I wondered about the new Morris Quad book and the possibility of some Allied Artillery pieces is also good news.
Thanks

Hi Guys (and Gals !!) just popping in to say i`m in.
I`d love to see more lorries/light vehicles put out by mainstream manufacturers, after all,NOTHING has ever moved on a battlefield without the intervention of some kind of transport and let`s not forget civilian lorries either, no modern army has moved without leasing at least one vehicle to move tanks or supplies.

Hi Guys,
I started this thread back in November 2008 and the good news is that since then we have had the Roden Rolls Royce AC. As Jim mentioned some artillery pieces might come along and we've had 2 new versions of the 75mm, and some more Bofors guns the most recent coming from Bronco.
Softskin wise, Tamiya have their Citeron and Bronco their Opel both very welcome additions. British Turck wise, not so good. Will we see the Tamiya Tilly in 1/35? - one can only hope.
I was down at Duxford this year and just keep the idea alive here's a few shots of some classic vehicles:
Scammel
Norton MC - Yes British MC are also included in the plea
Humber Super Snipe
Fordson WOAI
Fordson 15cwt GS Truck
CMP 60L - Not British but .....
Chevrolet 1.5 Ton 4 x 4 Tipper
BSA MC
Bedford Fuel Truck
Austin 10hp Saloon
AEC Matador
Lets hope one or more of these make it into plastic
Al
BTW 8798 hits on this thread so far which I would like to think indicates a certain level of interest from the modelling world.

Hi,
Are there any manufacturers that make the 1944 Morris Commercial C8 GS 4x4 . the trucks were used from late 1944 and my Morris came out of the British Army in 1957. They were used alot in Korea.

Hi Keith,
Not as far as I know in 1/35 scale. Plus Model do an early and late CS8 but these are were 4 x 2.
There is a side scale 1/35 drawing of one on page 18 of British Military Transport by Ryton Publications if that might help.
The good news is on the Tilly in plastic/resin with what seems to be another full plastic kit on route. That and the Triumph Motor Cycle are great news, but sadly no new plastic British trucks yet!!
Cheers

Hi Stefan and Kenneth,
Welcome aboard. It's an old thread but none the less still important as it has some good information and links and the cause is still the same.
There are so many possibilities both in trucks and trailers just there for the taking. With Allied subjects having taken off these last 2 years let's hope some new trucks are not too far away.
Cheers
Al
Edit: There are 10,723 hits on this thread, which is a lot more than I thought there would be, so folks seem interested I'd say!!

Hi, I forgot to mention the really good news is the forth-coming SKP Austin Tilly and a positive but to be confirmed, full plastic version of the Tilly by an as yet un-named manufacturer!!
Also not forgetting the 2 Roden Rolls Royce Armoured Cars and the Germans aren't doing too bad either with some nice staff cars poping up.
A new British Bantam should be out form MiniArt soon so there is some really positive progress.
Rumour Control has it that there is the possibility of at least one new plastic British Truck in plastic 1/35 scale, but I can't say more than that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it actually makes it to the shelves and with all the new Bofors 40mm guns, how long will it be before someone comes up with a QLB to tow them??
