Kit is the Tamiya M48 with the old Eduard etch set and AFV club tracks. Figures are all Hobby Fan parts, some modified, some stock.

Thanks guys,
This project has been in production for too many years that I care to remember, hopefully by posting it on here it will give me the enthusiasm to finish it ! (And you guys can nag me)
I originally had most of the figures finished in humbrol enamel and then discovered vallejo acrylics. Unfortunately I re-painted one to see what it looked like and was so impressed with these paints I decided to re-paint the whole lot. Duh !
Anyway, I'm on a roll now and should hopefully get the rest of the figures finished pretty soon. I'll post more pics as I finish them.
I won't touch painting the tank until the figures are finished, otherwise I'll rush them and it will never get done.
Mark - I am trying to add a bit of individualism to each one by using cigarette packs and such like to add a splash of colour to the otherwise green machine.
James - the kit is fine, no real problems to speak of and the tracks go together like a dream, how about posting your WIP ?
Thanks for all your comments and I'll try to get some better pictures for next time.
Cheers,
Andy

WOW.. those are some awesome figures. I'm looking forward to seeing the M48 painted. I have found memories of the M48 and M60 tanks from my marine corps days, so I will follow this build closely. Nice job Andy.

Great M48 Andy! Looks like you've added a lot of detail to it, nicely done. Figures are truly amazing! You've got your hands full with all of them!
Looking forward to seeing your project when it's all done! Thanks for sharing.

Love the combat cameraman with teh Leica rangefinder camera ... aaaahh - memories! Great build!. Just paint that tank Forest Green and weather it ,,, if there are any blemishes - and I can't seen any - the awe the figures will precipitate will more than shroud them.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, I really have the enthusiasm to finish this now. Even painted a whole pair of boots today ! (Must have a beer and celebrate).
Anyway, here are a couple of (I hope) clearer pics of two of the marines :-
Lighting is still a bit off - and I have a crap camera - but when it is finished I am hoping to get some good photos taken by someone who knows what they are doing !
Regards,
Andy

Can you please tell me how you painted the unifrom?
What do you want to know ? I can tell you what paint colours I used, but other than that it is just the same technique that everyone else uses for acrylics.
I don't mean to sound vague, but there are thousands of far better figure painters than me on this site and all I can say is that you develop a style over a number of years after reading articles and loads of practicing. I find it very hard to explain exactly how I personally do it, I find it easier for me to demonstrate. I'll PM you when I know what model shows our club is going to this year and maybe we can get together for a demo.
Other than that, colours I used are :
Uniform - Humbrol 86, Shadow 116 + 33, Highlight 86 + 72. (Enamels)
Body Armour - Vallejo 887, Shadow 887 + 862, Highlight 887 + 886. (Acrylics)
Webbing - Various khaki and green colours, mainly 924, 988, 830 etc. (Acrylics)
Camo Helmet Cover - Humbrol 86, 159, + 110. (Enamels)
The only reason I use humbrols for the uniform is that I like the colour, however I think there is a danger that the figures can look a little monotone and I have been experimenting with an acrylic for the main uniform and have now found a colour palette I am happy with so when I finally get this project done, the next ones' figures will have a new look.
Hope that helps a bit
Andy
