Hi!
Small update: I've done all assembly (wheels are not attached yet but I'm going to do it after damper's dust cover tubes painting) and I've paited my T64 with mix of scarlet and black which I use as ground color for salt chipping technique.
Next step: salt aplication and first layer of camo.

Thanks John, I'm happy you like it.
Do you plan to build some small diorama for your launcher? It would be really great.

Holidays... yes, I remember I had something like that years ago... but the upper part fall off...

Mike, Todd, nice progress!
I’m planning to paint first layer today or tomorrow. Salt is already applied and I have to check if it’s fixed to the surface enough to go through airbrushing another layer.

This is my first campaign, and I deffinately think this M60 qualifies.....your opinions please!
This is an ARMY M60, and it only attracks my attention because of the "MARPAT"
I think this was taken back in 85, wonder why it wasn't implemented??

My guess is
+ Very complex to paint
+ Far less fault/change tolerant than MERDC or NATO 3-tone
+ Increased cammo effect did not validate the increased efforts
The Pixilation looks more complex than i.e the BAOR "Berlin" cammo.
The Tankograd publications on Reforger (IIRC Book 2 and 3) have some more pictures of vehicles in this pattern

Thanks for the encouragement, I am urging to get a kit and do this, I would however make it a Marine Corps model, it would be a good theme I think, "Future Marine" type of thing...

You know, I bet painting it would have been a pain in the

, but that patter for our Marine Digees at 200 yards is almost impossible to spot, I deffinately appreciate whatever General decided to give this a shot and his ingenuity! thanks for the info
ps I had never seen this BAOR Berlin cammo, NUTS!!

Alex, you should definitely go for that camo. It will be difficult to make, but it will look even more stunning. Lots of masking is the way to go. I have tried something similar on a Russian Sukhoi. It is worth the effort!

Some minor details:
There are about two pages of pictures showing this cammo in Book 2 of the Reforger-Series published by Tankograd
The cammo was tested on M60s, M113 and a number of trucks
It is called dual-tex(ture) and was tested with the 2nd ACR in Germany in the early 1980s
The colors are taken from the MERDC range, the larger areas are Field Drap/Forrest green. The squares are Sand and Black. From the description in the above book only the square colors where painted in squares, the others where large blotches

Yep she is a 1/700. The wife has limited me to one bookshelf of space to display these so I built a really big book shelf and I build little models to maximize my fleet size.
My tanks are 1/72 and my planes 1/144

@ David
I know what you are talking about... Half of my stuff is placed on the floor (not the models of course) because there is no more space on the shelves.
I've just ordered new desk and several bookshelves to my hobby-room: finally more space for my little toys and books... Maybe I'll be even able to fit my Lepold Gun there...

BTW: Somehow I cannot imagine myself building 1/144 plane... I couldnt even find it on the shelve....

1/144 planes don't look as small when you put them next to 1/700 ships

LTVP7, US Marines, early 80s. This is the hobbyboss kit with a few added internal improvments to bring it a litttle closer to LTVP.
