Hi, I am posting my entry to this Campaign, It's a DML 1/35 BTR-70, Afghanistan. I think the pictures are too much grainy, have to improve my photografic technic, any comments are welcome.
Happy Modeling

and Cut! With the exception of a flat coat this little guy is complete. Start to finish in less than a day. Can't beat that. As much of a turd as this kit is, it actually came out better than I thought it would. Thanks, "Q"

Thanks Robert. Unfortunately I had intended my T-55 for the "Get it done again" campaign so it has moved over to there. I built a DDR T-72 some months ago for this campaign which is posted on my photo page and in this gallery.
Thanks,

Paint, decals, and clear coat done...
Next washes (to lighten the base a little and add some contrast), and pigments.
This one is strictly OOTB practice for some Miniarm conversions !
Cheers

That's it for this one. Sorry..... the photo quality is ordinary

My next T-72 will be a "Green" DDR machine (a shade lighter than the 'B' below), with black rubber skirts.
If I did it this one again, there would be more 'ochre oil wash', this one is perhaps a little more subtle than I initially wanted on the hull top and turret. It'll do though....
Shading would have been a good idea to do also. Especially on the turret and glacis.
This project has been good practice for my next T-72's - Miniarm A, B, & BM.
Here are some pics - the log was fun
Cheers

Paul and Gary, very nice T-72s. One of the most iconic cold war machines. Thanks for sharing.
I will soon provide some air cover for the T-72s

My Gaskin is coming along slowly but surely. Next is some detail painting and decals before the weathering begins.
More to follow.

More and more superb entries! Well done mates!
As we're coming to the end but I thinking about short extension. Who needs some more time to finish Cold War project?

I think I will be done in time, but not sure, so a short extension might be needed.

I should be able to finish the M113 during next week. But I would not form a Civic Action Commitee to protest against an extension either.

I have made a little more progress on my SA-9. The main model is together now and I have tried some initial weathering using new weathering techniques. I am using a lot of MiG oils and pastels for the weathering.
The colours in the pictures are too bright - especially the missile cannisters - it is not how it looks in reality. I will try to get better pictures later in daylight, but daylight hours are few this time of year in Denmark.
More to follow soon

Hi Marcin, you know my answer to that.
At the moment I am down and out, recovering and I will remain so untill christmas at least...
Just the couch, a blanket, a book and some internettime every now and then. No plastics, glue, paint etc..
BTW; great builds are coming by here! I like the amount of Sovjet tanks, too. It's great to compare them to one another.
Keep it up, guys!

Another T-72 coming up shortly.
I may need a few more days though
This one will be an East German machine strictly OOTB (with no 'fixes' or extras) of the Tamiya kit (I love those Tamiya T-72's

).
Its ready for paint.
The plan is to paint the wheels and lower hull, fit the skirts, and then do the base coat with a bit of shading and highlighting - all in green. The "rubber" skirt bits will be black - 'll probably 'brush' those in Vallejo Model Color.
Cheers
Pau

I'm glad more and more great entries appear
Anyone already signed on campaign list, with already started kits will get a chance to get a ribbon even after ending date. All you need to do is to post a progress pic before ending date

I have made more progress on my SA-9 Gaskin. Weatering is progressing, but I am not entirely satisfied yet.
I think the aluminium missile canisters look very bright and it would be natural for the crew to try to camouflage them in some way. One way would be to paint them or smear mud over them, but I decided camouflage netting was more likely as this can be reused and would not affect any electronic that might be incorporated on the canisters.
I might need an extra week or two to get this one finished.
Comments welcome

@ Marcin; What do you mean exactly? I can finish my build and get a ribbon, even after I finish it after the closingdate, as long as I show a w.i.p.-photo?
@ Jesper; your vehicle looks great, but please loose the netting. It just doesn't look right.
Maybe paint it in the appropriate colours and roll it up?
As for me, I am still recovering, but hope to be able to get back to modelling soon!

Here's my DDR T-72. The pics aren't the best

Next time I'll use slightly darker washes. I wanted a slightly darker dust effect, but the lights make it look a lot brighter.
This one was strictly OOTB, my next T-72 projects will be Miniarm conversions...
I love this Tamiya kit (regardless of it's inaccuracies), we need more quality styrene Soviet and Russian armor !!!
I noticed the front tow cable had a bit too much shine and I've since dulled it with some pigments

I'm sorry, I'll try to clarify this:
I would like to allow extension only for those who really started work on their models far before closing date. I would like to see progress pics from all who would like an extention.
You've posted some in-progress pics so and we all know you've been working on you dio for some time so you don't have to post any more pics to get an extension.

Thanks a lot Marcin!
I'll get back to it a.s.a.p., but I think I will have to do a "scaled down"-version of my build, meaning only the vehicle.
The dio will have to be put aside for the time being.
