I've just started my Soviet T-72B.
It'll be the Zvvezda kit pretty much out of the box.
Cheers

Andy: nice LVTP, I like the weathering and the camo. I have to practice on some old model before I can start the paint on my T80. Do you have any advice in free hand because there is no way that I can tape off or use silly putty for the 3 tone on this tank, there is just too much stuff that will not allow tape to be effective?

hey robert, well....silly putty might actully work. I used it on a Sdkfz 234/4 completely built with PE details and it worked great.
but, about freehanding...thin the paint out a lot, and plan on spending a lot of time on one color. Just take your time, shooting "into" the colored region, angling the airbrush so the bottom of the spray cone is the outside edge of the color area (old trick), outline each, then fill in.
Main deal is taking your time. It took me about 4 hours to do the 3 colors on this puppy..not counting the base color.

@ Todd, Could you give us some more details on your kit? I think I know that green colourIs, is it Revell kit?

Hey Marcin, Yes its the revell kit . the fit is pretty good except for the turret armor ... what a pain! I'm hesitant about the running gear and tracks

A very good LVTP indeed! And a very well done camoscheme, just what I have in mind for my M60.
Sadly enough I haven't touched a kit in 2 weeks.....
Just to show I haven't forgotten about this campaign I thought I'd show you some sketches I made for the diorama I have in mind.
The basic one;

Looking at it I noticed that it was not good, unbalanced, didn't feel right. It took me a little while to figure out what was wrong.
The main problems with this layout were the overcrowded area in the rear and the large, empty space in front.
The solution proved to be very simple. I moved the vehicle more up the road and relocated a few crewmen et voilá;

Here's a drawing showing the cross section (is it called that way?). again with the alterations in red.

Started painting my T80 with the pale green base color, next to tape/sillyputty/blu tack for the field geen then the black.

Started this campaign in a flury of activity in the early summer but sadly life( work) caught up with me so I have only just resumed and hopefully I will finish by the due date.

This picture has always said Cold War to me, so for at least the first hour I planned a whole battery or even just three. Then sense kicked in as that would be over a meter long and half as high and so I started with the transporting frame

and then the erector/launch beam

The smiley faces are vynal stickers kids use. I find that, as they are thin, self adhesive and take glue well, they make perfect panels and hatches and they come in a large variety of shapes and sizes.
The missile stages are Evergreen tube

I made a single set of fins and cast copies

That's it so far, hopefully more when I return from SMW.

Great LVTP, Andy. It looks very good and the camouflage come out just right in my opinion.
Mecanix, another ambitious project from you, but you have shown in the past that your scratchbuilding skills are great. Looking forward to see more.

Are you sure? you still have over a month to finish your dio.
Of course there is a chance for extension but I'll wait until mid December with official
announcement

Hi Marcin
so far only the M3A1 has been built basically and so have the figures. That was the fast and easy part!
Now I have to paint everything and construct the base...
I will not get that done within a month + the fact that I will be having churgery, costing me at least another week.
That's why I asked....

Nice build, Miroslav.
I have started a SA-9 Gaskin for this campaign. It is the old 1/35 Dragon kit. Construction have started and in some places the kit is showing its age with less than perfect fit and quite some flash.
More to follow as progress continues....

Status: 80 percent done on an old Tamiya M113 (with Eduard set) Basically the vehicle is done, painted and all. Currently working on the figures, payload and then the final fine parts. With some days of leave left the beast should be done in time.
Plan is for a small vignette inspired by Tankograds "Reforger" series showing an M113 with an engine malfunction, motor hatch open and the commandor looking in giving orders to the driver.
Edit: Two photos:

I thought I would wait until the last possible moment before starting...

Actually I completely forgot I was signed on with this one. I decided to go with the following for my entry.

Nothing says Cold War like a T-54. It is a horrible kit,

so I will consider that my penalty for waiting so long to start. Preogress pics to follow soon.
Thanks, "Q"
