Looking like Bushmaster suspension! Would buy the kit just for the guts. Seb how to the dimensions measure up width wise and are the M1117 wheels the same size as the Bushie?
Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
Regards
Bill

Don't know about the light but the 1:1 M1117 is fitted with 14R20 XZL tires (overall diameter = 49.5 inches, overall width = 15.1 inches ) whereas the Bushmaster is fitted with 395/85R20 XML tires (overall diameter = 46.7 inches, overall width = 15.4 inches)

Thanks for the stats. Jim Carwell made some nice resin wheels for the Bushmaster so if the suspension is not too wide we could jury rig something using the M1117 suspension and Jim's resin wheels instead of the larger kit M1117 wheels.
If that fails at least I could fabricate the suspension using the M1117 as a model either upsizing or down sizing it'll be better than guessing.

Ok Bill
No problem since the M1078 is fitted with the 395/85 R20 XML
So with the Pro Art set you can fix the issue in case of inaccuracy of Jim's wheels.

Quoted TextSorry Guys
no interior no figures
Kinda takes away all fun with such a kit, so I think I'll head over to HLJ and cancel my pre-order
I don't think it necessarily takes the fun away. In fact there was a time when I loved doing full blown interiors from scratch. However, the rear entryway is usually so full with seldom used items that the rear hatch is rarely even opened. If Big Army's SOP's are anything like ours, the doors are not usually left open at a halt either. In fact, on the few rare occasions I've seen them they were buttoned up.
I will of course do a full interior simply because I have the resources available to do so, but NOT doing it isn't going to detract from this kit in the least.

Dear All
The timoney suspension
I fix the issue on the holes
before
During the process
After
A complete suspension the rear one done
You have to take special care to have the hubs perfectly perpendicular from the suspension unit
Now the hull the inside
lower part
upper part
Glue together and dress up with the ceramic applique, please note the nice anti slid coating
Cheers
Seb

Looking at the model hull photos, can there be any doubt as to the lineage of the 1117? This has V-100 all over it. Guess the Army managed to keep a winner after all!

Working on the hull
You have to be really careful with the ceramic applique when you glue them in place it is better to do so dry fitting to have a perfect adjustment.
The hatch with horrible ejection pin
The lights
be careful with the all the pieces to glue them in the good orientation and not upside down like me

Moving along wonderfully Seb, looking great. The only thing I would have done was to sand down the window wiper arms, thinned them more to scale. Looking forward to your next progress posting!

The issues with the kit are pretty nil, and seeing as how popular this kit is, I'm sure it'll sell well despite the shortcomings. Most modelers don't care about those nittys much anyways.
I myself will pick one up to compare with my NWM kit.

Just saw the picture of the upcoming figure set from Trumpy.
Why do these guys insist on providing M-16's instead of M-4's? The Army hasn't had M-16's issued to troops in OIF / OEF for years.
