You can count me in.... doing two old 1:35 Tamiya Pz IV Ds with some PE, one in north africa colors for this Campaign, one in grey/grau for the "Axis Armor" Campaign. Gives me a chance to improve my meager armor techniques. Cheers.

Well, at the RAF Cosford show I picked up the Dragon 1/35 Pz.IV Ausf C for the princely sum of £20! Bargain!

Then I remembered this campaign was starting soon.

I am intrueged by a couple of decal options in the box for 21st Panzer Division, in Normandy '44. I would've thought any Ausf C's would be long gone by that point. Does anyone know if they saw combat? Any pics?

Hi guys,
I should be in on this one. Just finished Tamyia's Panzer IV Ausf.D last month. Didn't see this campaign coming up until after the built started. Im scheduled for ankle surgery next month so I should be all laid up for the start of this one. I'm trying to get a hold of Tamyia's old Flakpanzer for this one

Ankle surgery, damm; why didn't I think of that before. Perfect excuse to laid down and catch up with my reading and half finished scale models .

Well, hope that your ankle turns out OK!

Let's do some plastic.

Hey guys,

I'm looking forward to this one. I'm going to build the same old Tamiya Ausf D. that I built in the Eighties! Maybe I'll grow my mullet back, too.

Im an armor newbie, so will join in with the simple old Tamiya Pz IV D oldie. Some simple AMs and the old boring grau early war paint scheme.

Hey, you have to start somewhere

I do not think that there is nothing boring about that scheme, just have to give it a twist, there is one tank in that scheme that has chalk all over, NICE

In other matters. isn't anyone around here that may have an "easy" way to paint those little road wheels, I mean, there are 32 of those little suckers. the one with the better idea will become a hero around here, his name will be remember in eons to come, childs will be name after him, virgins will be sacrifice -after they pass the exam by the ModelMaster- and by the way, send your request to become one; a ModelMaster, not a virgin

Happy Modeling

Byron,

I'm sure Quickwheel makes a mask set for them, but you can always go old-school by cutting a circle in thin plastic to mask the black while painting the central metal part.

However, there are no shortcuts to modelling Nirvana...

I use a circle template. Lots of circles, no cutting.

Byron,

I'm going to change my original entree from Dragon's oldie #6081 Late Brummbar kit to Dragon's Panzer IV Ausf. F2/G #6360 (birthday present from the wife ) for this campaign.

Only half a month away from the start of this campaign. Can't wait to do some plastic!

I'll be building this golden oldie, with a bare minimum of AMS and definitely no AM stuff... (A true Zen build?)

Milvehfan, you can do it, I have faith in you
@ Tom built that old Tamiya kit 2 years ago when I first broke my leg. I'm gonna go with an old Tamiya kit as well the Jagdpanzer IV L/70
Photobucket
Been wanting to build it for a while, I keep checking the start date for this campaign.

Decisions!! Decisions!! ahhh!! the tough life of a scale modeler. Well, the time is coming and I still have not make any choice either.

seems it's going to be a very interesting campaign.

Sal,

That L70 is a nice kit - I remember building one when it first came out. Not long to go now!

Ok Guys,
We are almost there so, I have been preparing all day for this build. I have looked through over 1300 photos and have found only 1 photo with partial side schurzen and that one was the later model with the different exhaust. Now the kit come with full skirts and all the pictures of completed models I have seen many have the skirts. So do I build it with or without the schurzen
Boy life is tuff when one has to sit home and make decisions like this
