I believe that if anyone reads what others say about LM, will find a lot of satisfied customers and a few guys with bad luck
Just take a look at the age of this thread and the fact that it was buried for more than 6 years...

Old thread ... yes. However, LuckyModel's online store suffers from very archaic web design, making it very cumbersome to navigate through. ... My 2 cents US.

I'm currently awaiting an order, and though I don't consider it late just yet, I received order confirmation one week ago, but there has been no payment transaction applied to my card account. On LuckyModel's site, my order status still reads "Waiting Full Payment to be settled." Since I have not been notified of any issues, I have no idea what the holdup is. This is not my first time ordering from Lucky Model and I have noticed a similar lag in payment status in the past.

Lastly, I do find the many positive comments from satisfied customers above very reassuring.

Mike, if the system indicate "waiting for payment" that means our system is not collecting any payment information so far.

I want to use this place to restate that we don't keep any customer credit card data at our site. Therefore, each payment need individual authorization, that means many customer confuse why don't we send the goods (think we can use the credit card in the past time).

Besides, we will start a long Chinese New Year Holiday tomorrow, therefore, the request would take few days to reply. As we have some staffs from CS also need to attend the Toy Fair in Germany, please pay a little patience for us in the long year holiday period.

At last, we are working out a new web software in 2017 and hopefully to meet you soon to replace our out-dated, 14 years old software platform.

At last, if you find anything you cannot resolved with our CS, drop me an email at [email protected]

Raymond Chung, any chance the new system will have more than US currency as an option?

When I first started using LM back in 2010 LM were my first and for some time preferred international supplier, the Australian dollar had excellent rates vs the US Dollar, everything was great. Last few years the Australian dollar isn't so great vs the US Dollar which has driven up the price much more (even higher than local stores occasionally), and I have mainly used other online stores that convert straight to the AUD from HKD or Yen, instead of HKD to US with my payment provider then converting to USD to AUD.

I have always found LM's communication excellent on the few occasions I have needed to communicate with them, and a faster processing->postage time than some other online stores and would happily go back to LM being my preferred supplier if billing options were wider then USD only

I actually have an order I placed back in August for the Takom SS100 kit and 4 Hasegawa plane kits. The Takom came in but the Hasegawa kits have been on back order since then. I contacted CS but all they replied with was that they were still waiting for them.

Let me add my two cents in to the fray. I placed an order for the Trump Mig 27 and ZSU-57 along with some other items with Lucky Model in August 2016. Within a week both the Mig and ZSU were indicating in-stock fully reserved for my order while awaiting stock on other items that were part of the overall order. When this order was placed the other items that I ordered were all listed as being in-stock. Suddenly the in-stock items are out of stock and the entire order is being held. With all this happening suddenly, the status of the Mig and ZSU changed to pending status and now no part of the order is being shipped. Six months later and I am still awaiting shipment on this order. By the way, the on-line catalog has since shown all of my ordered items to be in-stock or in the case of the Mig and ZSU 1 week possible restock since October. So what's really going on here?

I also placed a second order on December 1 for some additional supplies that were all listed as in-stock, their website showed that this second order had been shipped in-part on December 6 and 20 via airmail. As of January 27, 2017, still no delivery! There was no tracking number assigned to these shipments. Using the package tracking link on their website gives you a not found status when you use the carton or box number. LM Customer service was no help in determining what has happened to the shipment. They keep referring to their on-line link and to use the tracking number. Repeated correspondence with them and they still do not acknowledge there is no tracking number on both shipments. Time to call the credit card company and contest the billing as a non-delivery.

It will be a long and hard decision before I order from them again. By the way, I have been doing business with them since the early or mid nineties and I have no complaints until the past year.

I have no issue with Luckymodel.com. Excellent prices. Very good service. I've had small items, that could have fallen out of the package, placed inside of kit boxes, with notes explaining that the item was placed in it. The website is not too bad to navigate, but could be improved. Shipping is based on weight, which sometimes is either a wash with US company prices or more. Often times, it is less. They do offer free shipping, especially on PE items. Give them a look.
Scalehobbyist is my favorite US company. Great prices and excellent webdesign. You can filter down a lot of information. Squadron has some of the highest prices, even during sales and their website is total garbage, as far as searching for items.
