Hi bit of a rant coming here, I have placed couple of orders lately wiyh LM and have ordered in stock items only to have them go out of stock before they ship, I have now been waiting for tamiya mailda for six weeks to come in stock, I placed order 4 days ago for 2 items that both showed instock 3 days later 1 item only becomes available and this is after i have paid. I am fed up with online shops that show instock then go out of stock after i have paid, I have been shopping a LM for years now but lately their service is crap, has anyone else had these probs at LM or is it just my bad luck, Cheers Bob.

I've noted that they are not so fast to ship lately, but I have received everything. I haven't ordered anything in as much demand as the Matilda kit is, though. Maybe send a PM to Raymond and see what he can tell you.

I hear you on that one Bob. I ordered the Matilda from LM on August 7th and still have not received it. It was "in stock" when I ordered it and now the status is "available."

Bob,
Don't PM or email. Go to "my account" and click on the "My Request" button. It is the best way to guarantee a quick answer. Any time I have sent a communication this way, it has been answered within 24 hours.
I have ordered from LuckyModel 11 times in the last 2 1/2 years and gotten nothing but the best service.

I have used the my request button and get the usual answer of being in in a couple of weeks, but this is not the point, the items were in stock when ordered and paid for but 3 days later it becomes unavailable, they should have shipped within 3 days. Also i have used LM for years without problem but my last 3 orders have all had this problem. Cheers Bob.

Bob, I'd say it is just bad luck. I've had nothing but good outcomes from them with the longest wait 2 Weeks.
You may wish to try this guy as I've found hime to be brilliant:

I just had the same thing happen. My first order went out of stock so I had them cancel it and I reordered then two days later my second order was out of stock before it shipped. so I got pissed off and asked them point blank "should I just give you some money and you pick something out for me or where you planning on ripping me off from the start?"
I picked up my order from the post office 7or 8 days later. lol!
I was pretty impressed by that I will order again.

I have ordered numerous times from LM and never had any troubles. One of the reasons for ordering has been free shipping for some of the accessorie brands.

I order all my kits from Hannants and Luckymodel. I really do think LM are a very good store and most orders are delivered without any problems.
However I understand the "stock" problems you have mentioned here Bob. I had a few problems last year with large orders I made with newer and more populor items going out of stock exceptionally quickly. I understand this can happen with a populor store but the same Items were then being held back for months on end even though they continued to be displayed as "in stock".
It took a few unhappy emails to correct the errors but I was overall happy with the response from LM. I recommend them but dont expect your deliveries in a hurry.
..I just wish they could get some of Trumpeters newer stuff a little quicker in future, Hannants released the M1117 bang on time as per the usual high standard but LM are late as usual and still not even mentioning it yet..

Bob, it's just not you, I ordered:
8/7/2009 TA 35300 1/35 Matilda Mk.III/IV
It also was in stock..... and same as you.... became unavailable..... then appeared again as in stock, the became unavailable again.
And I'm also still waiting........
Interestingly........ the Matilda shows as "in stock" as of 0630 NYtime today.
I also ordered on the same day - 8/7/09 and on the same order number: 2 -Citroen Traction 11CV that were also were marked "in stock", they also disappeared from stock, not once but twice, the "in stock and Unavailable routine again. Even though I've been told and it's marked as shipped, I'm still waiting for the 2 Citroen Traction 11CV kits.
I wonder if the Matilda will actually be shipped on this instalment of "in Stock" or will it disappear again?
I'll up date this post if and when they do arrive.
I've done business with Ray since he's opened, and the service has gone down hill the past year.

Dave,
It's still in stock as at 15.15 GMT and I've ordered one as well.
Ray has been a bit lax recently, I've been calling him about another matter and not been able to get hold of him or Silvia. I know he's had a berevement recently so it might be down to that. As for Trumpeter (and Bronco for that matter) they fill their orders for overseas before they do the Hong Kong ones.

I think the biggest problem with their website and their ordering system is......
When you see the item as "In Stock" and you purchase it........it doesn't take the one you purchased from the inventory right away.
For example, if you say that they had the Tamiya Matilda as In Stock right now....they had say 6 of them....and you ordered one......your order doesn't subtract it from the online stock right away.
So, say they did have 6 of them......and you were the 7th one to order it, even though it still said it was "In Stock" because the inventory doesn't update as soon as someone purchases an item, you being the 7th customer sees that it is still In Stock, but in reality it is sold out, because 6 people just purchased it before you.
Basically boils down to that they don't have a live inventory on their website

I made a mistake by ordering some PE that were "available", waited for 4 weeks and cancelled my order. Went for european netstore and had the same products on my desk within week.

According to Silvia the problem is that they don't use realtime stock updating but rather it is done manually, so if they only have one of a kit ( which is frequently the case ) and three people order it when they process the orders it goes to the first one then it is changed as out of stock.
Why in this day and age you don't have realtime updating I don't know, I can understand the older system as an order does not necessarily constitute a sale but with Paypal once it's paid for it's sold and should come out of stock at that point, not a few days later when you actually go and take it off the shelf.
I've ordered a LOT from them and always have problems but we've sort of come to an understanding whereby I give the OOS stuff a month to come back in then I change it to something else as there's always something else I want.

I NEVER had any problems with this store. They always shipped my orders for a good price. I can only recomend this shop. and order only items IN STOCK...

It would seem to me that they are in need of a better stock control system, and that would prevent this kind of complaint that damages their name.

Yep, I agree. I think it's time for Ray to update his inventory/shopping cart software.

I have used LM for the first time last week and ordered the Citroen traction and a few other things. Hope that I get the traction as Red Frog not only did not have it but they didn't even back order it for me. Not real happy with that. Hopefully I will see my traction in the next few days in the mail..........AL

I've also been waiting since August for my Matilda. I used their online trouble check system, and their only response was they didn't know when it would be back in. It's listed as "In stock" right now, and I'll be seriously annoyed if it doesn't ship tomorrow.
