Hi Bruce~!

I will join in with...something, have to think about it! I am about to start reading The Day of Battle, part 2 of the "Liberation Trilogy" by Rich Atkinson, which covers exactly the dates of your campaign.

On a side note, my Father was a WWII infantryman, and he participated in the Sicily landings... and 40 years later, in 2003, I was deployed at Sigonella, near Catania (Sicily) for OIF! They had an anniversary celebration in Gela while I was there... talk about coincidences!

By when do you need an exact vehicle?

cheers, James

Hello James,
All you have to do is show the model parts with a time stamp when the campaign starts. You can decide what you want to build till the last day of the campaign, If you want.
Other then that when ever.

@ Matthew,
Welcome to the campaign.

Cheers,
Bruce

I had a lot of fun with the Blitz II Campaign, so I signed up for this one too. I'm pushing myself to work a little faster this year, because I signed up for three consecutive campaigns today! Right now, I'm thinking about a US Halftrack with crew and base, but that might change between now and November.

Hi Bruce,
Just got an old motorized Tamiya Sd.Kfz7 from 1972. I was thinking about entering into the campaign with it towing an 88 that I still have to acquire. I should be retired by the start date so build time shouldn't be a problem.

Hello All,
@ James,
Sounds great. Which division are you going to portray.
@ Salvatore,
Sounds like a plan. Is the Sd.Kf7 built? If so I am sorry but it is not allowed.
You could have your 88 in an ambush position.
I am not sure what I am going to do yet.
Cheers,
Bruce

Bruce,
Its not build yet. The spruce's are still in the plastic and it appears that only 2 pieces may have fallen off. Other than that even the motor needs to be assembled. I'll try and get a picture of it up tomorrow.

I'm interested, I have a Dragon M3 GMC that I intend to build as a British Army example serving in Italy. November gives me time to obtain all those aftermarket parts to replace the parts that Dragon got wrong !

Bruce,
Here is the Sd.Kfz7 that I was talking about.

Now I just need to get the 88 to go with it.

Hello Paul,
Welcome to the campaign. Great choice on the Bren Carrier, I have always liked the little gun carrier/people mover.
Cheers,
Bruce

Just signed up.......... will give me a chance to possibly put out something Canadian as well. Biggest issue is November is a long ways away. This old man may forget by the end of June that I signed up for this.............. may need an email reminder !!!!

It sure is. It starts on November 1st. So we are getting close to the start date. I really need to try and finish up some of my other projects before it starts. I have three campaigns I am currently trying to finish up and five book reviews and two figure set reviews to write up. I also have two other campaigns that I am enlisted in that start on November 1st as well (one of them is one I am hosting). Oh well, it keeps me busy and out of trouble.

That is a ridiculous amount of projects!

Do we have any Sicily experts in the campaign? I have always wanted to do a Marder and see this as a perfect opportunity, but I cannot work out which type were there.

Marder III's are usually a safe bet, I think if you go for the H you should be fine.

The Herman Goring Pz Grenadier was in Italy and Sicily and had Marder 3's H in its inventory.
I hope this helps.

@ Everyone one else,
The campaign is still on and I will try to PM the "old men" so they know that it has started. All I need is a ribbon for the campaign, anyone want to do it?
Cheers,
Bruce

Zaltar: Can't wait to see what you come up with

I think I have a kit or two that are applicable to this campaign, I will have to see how the other bajillion campaigns I'm in go before I commit to this one though

Okay, here's the ribbon that I came up with:

And here's one option for a banner:

Hope you like them, I'll try to come up with more banner options ASAP.
