Guys, I'm at Fort Sill. I have access to the prototype and there are 777s all over post. What do you need?

Hi Jon,
simply said: everything After I learned that the gun is pretty complex, basic measurements, like barrel lenght and diameter, width, lenght and height of the cradle, tire size
etc. etc. would be a start. I don`t know if the gun`s TM contain line drawings, but a 5-view drawing would be the best start.
Good hunting

I need a silhouette of the side, rear, and front of the gun. Or, just one from above.

I'll see what I can do. I can get measurements on the prototype. Will see about talking to a unit to get photos of an active piece. I've got a bunch of stuff in the works for the ADA Museum, (measurements on my M1 and M2 90mm guns!) but I will get down to the FA Museum when I can to get specs on the XM777.

Hi friends,
I just got word from Trumpeter that they are interested in producing the M777 in styrene. I am coordinating some resources to give them to Trumpeter at next years Nuremberg Toy Fair. As there are sveral good photos out on the net. they specially look for measurements and drawings. Seems like we have to wait "only" 1 or 2 years for this model kit

But why can't they buy the one already made by that model company for $### dollars? Wouldn't that be faster and a better idea? I'm not sure if that model company made it accurately because some may just make it based on photos without measurements.
Oh, if you could and do have a Trumpeter contact, please ask if they plan to make anymore new modern American firetruck kits. Thanks!

That would make it the second bit of British military equipment that was developed in my home town. They have the AS90 already..

That is fantastic news - Trumpter kits are going from strength to strength. This will be a great addition - I'll definitely get at least 2!!

lol. I have tons of reference photos and the tire size and barrel length. I've contacted several companies, in the know, without a reply. I even have parts of it designed in my CAD program. If I can do that as a rank amateur, I don't see why Trumpeter couldn't do it in a year, especially with all of the requests.

Because they already have a release schedule and are only interested in making the most profit, so we will have to wait until they are ready. How long did it take to see their M1083 when they have had a built-up sample for about 3 before it hit the shelves?
Just because it is your priority, doesn't make it theirs.

As Gino stated your schedule is not theirs
For all of us it is a hobby and a passion.
For the manufactures....it is a business, period. It is strictly about profit and timing.
Rounds Complete!!

For all who can`t wait for the Trumpeter kit:
Try a Googlesearch for: BAeSystems LW155. I found some good drawings from a patent writing, that might help a lot.
