If you check the frontpage you have three blocks in the middle. The left one says "Features", the middle one "photo's" and the right one says "Video's"
Below the list with the latest Photo features you see "submit your photo's to us"
Which brings you to this page

I will give it a shot. Thanks bro!

Jerry I've been intrigued by this build since I first saw it and I've got to say I'm really loving it all coming together now, it looks fantastic. The expressions, details like hair and the layout capture the scene of the photos masterfully. Many, many congratulations on this piece my friend!

Thanks for sticking with it through this many months buddy!! Always nice to hear from the Irish contingent.
What did you think of the backdrop? Effective? Or POS? It was something new for me so I am curious.
J

The backdrop locks damn good Jerry, from every angle except one it looks natural and you have to kind of cocentrate on it to seperate it from the foreground of the dio. The one picture it is not quite as effective in is of a side on shot- I can't work out exactly what I think isn't effective about it but it doesn't work as well as in the other shots from other angles- the only thing I could suggest for this is to perhaps blur the background slightly with Photoshop. But it is only one angle and a slight tilt of the camera would probably fix it so it is like the others. I have to try a backdrop myself now, it is indeed very effective and gives a nice setting to the dio.

Thanks Karl,
Nice of you to say. First time I made a backdrop. I only did it because I wanted to capture that specific photo and couldn't make the dio big enough to fit in the trees in the distance. I see what you mean about the side shot and I agree,it looks like a mural on a kids' wall.
I will have to play around when I take more pics. Surprised I didn't get more comments now that this is done as I think everyone would be breathing a sigh of relief that they won't have to see this much longer!

I think you are being too harsh on yourself Jerry- the viewcount for this thread is well above 20,000 and counting- I've said before that some people feel awkward about commenting, many just come to the site to enjoy the work being posted. That said, I would encourage people to post something if they are taking a look. I for one don't want to see this slip down the forum any time soon as I take a lot of inspiration from it- for instance the hair for the figures, the general look you've managed to give them and the expert placement of the figures so they are visibly inter-acting with each other as in the photos you took inspiration from is, in my opinion, something every modeller can learn from !

Great result Jerry. The camo painting is really well done.

Now you've nailed the techniques you're ready to tackle a bigger POW dio

LOL....yes Pat there are no shortage of pics from the war showing German POWs. My favorite one was the long long column marching down the center median of an autobahn while American military traffic roared by on both sides. The scene was also used in the Band Of Brothers series.
Additionally I like the German mob marching through Moscow but that one has darker tones as most of those poor sods never saw their home again.

Very very kind thing to say my friend. Made my day. What can I say about this life long feeling of insecurity?
