Darren it's Dragon 6113. These figs were supposed to be with the kit I got on Ebay but wasn't in the box. I found this in my stash and have absolutely no recollection of ever buying it. It's like I knew

These figures will make your build very eye catching great work Marc.

Well...
I went to start gluing things together and discovered that one suspension arm with road wheel is MIA spent most of the last day cleaning up and looking for it. no luck so far.
Cheers Rob.
DOH!
Well after not finding the missing parts I looked over the model and much to my surprise I had made an extra of the other type of road wheel It's all sorted now.
You should all get a chuckle out of this.

As I understand it Rob it was not uncommon to see odd wheels on vehicles, so all is good.

Thanks Darren.
Got the tracks glued up.
Used Testors glue then wrapped them around the wheels left a small section in the bottom center to glue later.
Cheers Rob.

I carefully cut the weld beads off the two pieces that go on the front lower hull and trimmed the Zimmerit, they would have been covered by the Zimmerit. I also spent some time with an X-acto knife carving out the insides of the exhaust pipes.
Cheers Rob.
Cheers Rob.

I really like the King and Jagd Tigers, so I'm watching, and hoping to learn a few things. So far, I'm seeing some really great work here.

G'day fellas
OK, kit obtained and ready to start. However, no guarantees that the final beast will look like the box art!
Regards
Rob
Is it just me, or does that illustration look like it's running on travel tracks?

OK, another dumb question; why are so many King Tigers depicted with worn rims on the outer portion of the outer road wheels? It seems that the inner rims of the outer road wheels, and the outer rims of the inner road wheels are the ones that are abraded by the track guide teeth. Am I missing something obvious?

The only tanks I have seen this heavily used on are the Panthers as there is supporting photo evidence of it.

Rob the tracks looks great. They hang nice.
Kevin, I've seen that too. Wouldn't think the outer rims would get wear like that at all.
Got the figures done and mounted. So it is really, truly, honestly and completely done this time.

Thanks Marc!
I am surprised with how many tracks are left over.
Very nice Marc! I like it!
Cheers Rob.

Looks great Marc, truly. I do have a question though, the front left fender looks sort of odd to me, is that the way the P.E. was designed?

Rob, Kevin... thanks guys.
Kevin you are correct. I didn't mention it to see if anyone noticed. The pics below are purported to be "222" somewhere in the wood in Belgium. That piece is from the right side and for whatever reason mounted on the left side. The 2nd picture is a better angle even though fuzzier. I thought it would be an interesting way to portray the tank.

Very interesting. Thanks Marc. It's interesting that it would be reversed like that. I probably have the same photo (Ardenne?), and had never noticed.

Ok guys, I have a quick question.
I have been absolutely enchanted by King Tigers ever since I was a kid, and built my first Tamiya KT kit. I started back into the hobby as a way to alleviate stress a few years back. I got on to this site and was immediately thrown back by all of the talent that I saw on it. I wanted to participate in the Tiger build campaign back in 11-12, but basically, life (and my health) got in the way. The worst part about it is, Marc's (wing nut) kit and build is basically what I'm working on, so it would be a duplicate, but I wanted to propose to the group that I could at least post pics of my build, just to see what people think. I started it in July of '11, but all of the other criteria would be met, and even if I didn't get a ribbon for this campaign, I would still like some feedback (as well as teach myself how to upload pics on to Armorama and help others with their builds as well). If anybody disagrees, then I won't jump on to this campaign, and again, I'm forfeiting my eligibility for the ribbon- I just want to see this through.
Thanks for reading!

Yo, Marc! Since I asked the question about the fender, I have discovered that I have a photo of a Jagdtiger with a similar configuration, front fender sections reversed. Pretty interesting. (Offered up under "Fair Use" terms, posted for me on another thread here by Spitfire303.)

Excellent photo Kevin. I thought I had found a film of another KT with that as well but it turned out to be the same film that the still above is from but just flipped so the tank was going other way.

Right on, Darren! Ok, here goes nothin'.....
this build is replicating Kurt Sowa's ride from all of the KB photos and film during Wacht am Rhein. I used Dragon kit #6254, with AM coming from the Eduard Big Ed (phenomenal), with bits and pieces from Alliance Model Works Late War German tool stowage set, and tow cables and ends from a company called Karaya out of Poland. Fuel vent lines and mounts scratched from wire w/ pie tin brackets. Gun cleaning rod sections scratch from styrene w/ stretched sprue added at the ends. I'm trying a technique that I found on a Brazilian? site a while back- painting the running gear in Tamiya flat earth, and I'll go back over the wheels, idler and sprocket w/ a wisp of the base coat once I start in on the rest, to help w/ shading and blending to the ground work.

Well, crap.
Maybe I can remove my head from my 6 o'clock defensive position next time and actually post the pics without a link.
Some more tidbits- textured the armor plates w/ the "bouncing dremel" trick, smoothed w/ steel wool. Covered the slot for the jack bracket and left off the block (no pics of 222 that I have seen have them present). Not shown- hung the tow hooks from the rear clevices (clevii? Weird) and scratched the brackets on the rear plate w/ help from PE. Drilled holes through the spare links and will attach w/ wire (maybe needles if I can grind down the heads to look right). putting cut lines on more of the plating edges where they interlock/ where edges are visible. More pics soon.
Anyway, any comments welcome. Thanks for looking!

Outstanding work Lucas. Check back on page 19 to see the pins I did. Easy to do.
