More pictures... Hull is on. Suspension is on. Rear exhaust/air cleaners are on.

Still a fair bit of work to do before paint, but it looks like a tank!

Really looks the part, Jesse. I should have the Big Ed set, by the end of the month. Taking notes, on this one.

So I need to take pictures again. The exterior construction is just about finished enough to put paint on.

Items checked off
-install hull MG barrels
-add headlights with PE brush guards
-add siren
-add tail lights
-add wiring for headlights, taillights, and siren
-add PE details on rear engine deck where they will be visible. The tank I'm modeling (BATTTLEAXE) had a bunch of tarps and whatnot on the back, so it obsures a bit of what I would typically add.
-minor 'blemish' removal. Mostly adding a bit of thinned putty some seam lines that needed cleanup.
-built up the fenders, but will add them AFTER paint. I don't think I can install the tracks after the fenders are installed, hence this order.

Still lots of work to do, but it's coming.

So... she's ready for paint.

Construction wise, the last stuff are the tools, tracks, and sand rails along the sides, but those were all deemed too fragile to install before painting, since I'll have to handle it quite a bit to paint everything. The doors are shown closed just to act as masks to avoid painting the interior. The Grant I'm modeling had at least the right side front fenders missing, so that allows me to snake the track from the front without issue, so I was able to get the fenders on now.

The base coat will be a custom mix of "Light Stone", loosely based off Mike Starmer's mixes, but probably a bit less yellow.

Stowage is just stuck on with some sticky tac for fun. It'll be painted separately.

Jesse I was skimming this thread looking at pictures and I examined this one for a good long while...

I thought I was looking at a reference pic from a museum somewhere. That's beyond the pale man. You fully tricked a modeller BROWSING A MODEL SITE!!!

Either I need glasses or you've reached a higher plain.

Jesse, can't wait to see it with some paint to blend the whole exterior together. The pics of the interior as Richard said really look life like.

Just an outstanding super detailed build. You're light years above my humble level.

@ Richard. That's an awesome compliment. Thanks!

@ Joel. Thanks man. It just takes time and patience.

@ Gary. Thanks. The stowage is pretty good, but it's going to need some work to get it to 'sit' right.

@ Matt. Haha. I took pictures on my normal white background, and you couldn't see a thing except the fenders and blue tape. Had to go find that other brown/grey piece so you could see something.

Well, first base coat wasn't the color I wanted, and while cleaning the airbrush, I lost a part for long enough that base coat #2 will go tomorrow...

Jesse, I learned a long time ago to have spares for my Paasche 1H gun. I have extra everything just in case the carpet monster gets hungry during clean up. Not to mention all the various sizes in tips, cones & needles.

I'm still too young and stubborn. I looked for quite a bit where I was disassembling the thing, and nothing. Then kinda randomly looked over to where I was using compressed air to blow dry the body after I had it in the ultrasonic cleaner, and bent down onto 1 knee and "ouch!". Knee landed right on the little brass 'plunger' I was looking for.

Nice find. I usually find the missing part long after I've either made one or found a close replacement. My carpet monster isn't very fond of me.

How to beat the carpet monster at his own game -

1. Clean out your hoover, get it like new.
2. Hoover the carpet.
3. Empty the hoover.
4. Find the missing part in all the dust.

50/50 chance it will be trashed, but hey, at least you found it, lol

My work space is in the garage, so no carpet. Previously I had some very thin carpet, but it was hard to vacuum up small bits and keep it clean. I now have some rubber mats, but they tend to bounce stuff when they land.

But no carpet monster.
