Modified the rear door slats to help unblock the camera as per the real vehicle.

A couple of shots after adding a little more weathering and the first scratch built camoflage support bracket, sitting on top of the right front light guard..

A little shading completed.

Closer shot of the exhaust area weathering and detail.

I have to agree with others cause this is one awesome build you have here. It will sure to get a lot of lookers if entered in any contest.

All of you have been very kind with your comments and I thank you.

But, this beast will sit out on the display table I think as there are many hidden and unseen details that I feel let it down. Besides, competions scare the dickens out of me, I much prefer to stay and play it safe..

This build just gets better and better, Keith!

The modification for the rear camera is very nice work done quite clean and precise. It does make a big difference, too.

Keith, in the old days I was really into IMPS local, Regional, and even the occasional National contest. So I can speak with some experience that it would be your competition that would have the dickens scared out of them. Your build is that good.

With a little luck I will add the last scratch built Camoflage support to the front left headlight guard this week end.

The final stages are within sight. YIPPEE !

I am going to add a figure to the turret, work on a front camera (early version) attached to the drivers hatch and then the rear corner slat armor.

A little tweeking of paint, weathering and slat adjustments, then place it on a yet to be decided base.

I have enjoyed building and painting this conversion from Cromwell, even if it has been a little challenging at times.
Guess that's what it's all about anyway?

Your input and support has been very welcome and I thank all of you..

hi
love the build. can i make a suggestion . when you come to finally weathering the vehicle try and go for a very light magnolia colour. i have seen on other vehicles that have come back they look more this colour and not the weird sand colour they go out in.
cant wait to see it finished

Ossie, do you have any color photos of this color variation? Not really sure what Magnolia looks like.

Thank's for all the input and help with colors....

However, after having served many years on and in British armor (armour) and painted and repainted just a few (at least a 100) vehicles I have found that nothing is 100% accurate when it comes to painting models.

The obvious has to be remembered, factory fresh vehicles and paint differ from canned paint.

Application (brush or spray) and thinning methods differ, wear, tear, heat (or cold) and very quick sun bleaching changes everything and no two vehicles will look alike unless they are completed at the same time using the same items and methods.

Replacement, repaired, in theatre modifications to vehicles and parts will add to the color mix as well.

It is great to try and be accurate but comparing your model to a color picture or color swatch is all nice and dandy but not really accurate either...

I choose to look back on my years of service and experience when it comes to painting my models.

Some may disagree and I respect their point of view.

Keep up the input chaps and thank you.

The width indicators are in place and the right front (as you look at it) Camo pole support finished.

Closer look at the indicator pole made from two sizes of Evergreen rod and a super glue (Plastizap) ball.

The figure I will use for the turret, the head is not attached yet so I can paint it separately.

A slightly blurry view of the front!

The other day I removed the slat armor from around the turret because from the rear it wasn't up to par. The rods were not vertical and the horizontal slats wavy.

I have started to sort them out and put them back on... No pictures of this because I am unsure of the rusults at this time.

I will take some pictures when it is done (for better or for worse)

I have reworked and straightened the slat armor on the turret and started tinkering with other projects while they dry.

A general view of the production line.

Keith, that's some production line you've got there. I'm just the opposite, and usually have just one build going at a time. It's the way we use to build 40 years ago, and I never changed.

BTW, that tape deck took me by surprise. Didn't know that you could even buy tapes any more.

Keith,

Fanstastic work! Wow, that Warrior is a beast! That add-on armour really makes it look imposing.

BTW, love the reel-to-reel player. My dad had one and I loved messing with it, the old TEAC.

Looking great, Keith!

Your persistence and drive to get things just right are an inspiration and example for us all.

Having said that, though, I don't think I could ever keep my work bench as well sorted out and neat as yours!

After seeing these photos, I'm now convince the reason why I could never work on more than one project at a time is that I could never find the room in all my clutter...

You shame me, sir!

Seriously, though, I hope you bring the Warrior to the meeting tomorrow so that I can get a chance to see it up close. I'm really looking forward to checking out the new turret slat armor.

OK chaps it has been a while since my last update and I do apologise.
There were many small and different reasons for the delay but one of them was missing the mounting brackets for the rear quarter slat armor.

I now have them, thank's Gordon (Brown).....

It is my intention to add them either today or tomorrow, along with the turret antennas and then she is 99% complete.

Then the hard part, painting the figure BUT with a little (99.99%) help from my friend Mike Roof (known to some of you here) I hope to have something resembling a British soldier to place in the open hatch (well at least by Christmas)

I will add some pictures before close of play tomorrow.

Well here they are, the slats are mounted and painted.

View 2.

I have also added the left rear pole marker and the mounting minus the pole to the rear right (fell off during action )

Turret antennas are in place.

Still have to slightly weather the rear corner slats and touch up the whole vehicle. It is about 98% finished, only the front camera to add now.
The base is just for the pictures.

I will add some pictures of the crewman and a base when time allows and decisions on the base made.

Thanks for all of the interest and input, please continue to add your welcome comments.

Looks like it drove out of a sci-fi movie! 98%? I always find things to touch up... 105%... 110%. And, I would have stopped at 98! Looks awesome! Am I going to see this one at Nationals?
