The Warrior is now fixed in place as are the crew figure and standing infantryman. I have also fixed the complete display to the wooden base using 6 minute epoxy.

For a final touch I added a tow chain and one water 'Jerrican'. All of this is in the process of drying and I will add a couple of pictures tomorrow (Sunday).

The nameplate is being made and will be ready for pick up Tuesday.

The end is near.... Yippee

Jay.

I did the 'Cromwell Armour' Challenger 2 (TES) conversion some time ago and can be found in another topic.

Both have been quite involved and enjoyable builds. I am working (slowly) on adding a base to the Challenger.

Well this is the final set of pictures except for one more. That one will be posted when the name plate has been attached.

I hope you have enjoyed this very long build, now I hope it will be well received at the AMPS show in Sumter SC. on the 22nd of this month.

Views from the rear.

That's it for today.

Keith,

It's a great build - not only is the technical work on the models excellent quality, but the composition of the vignette is very effective.

I'm afraid the the viewers here can't really appreciate how well the variations in the terrain work to show off the Warrior. The last photo especially gives just a hint of what the build looks like in person. The scene has a lot of life with implied action and movement that sets it apart from what could have been a very static display.

Congrats on taking a very interesting subject and adding life to it. It really does look like it's getting ready to drive right off the base!

Well it is done, all I can do now is wait and see what the judges think of it at the AMPS and IPMS show the 22nd of this month.
I will post the comments and results after.

Thank you ALL for your input and helpful comments..

I would also like to thank my good friend and mentor 'Mike Roof' and his very patient wife Sheila, who has quietly put up with me taking her time from Mike's duties in the garden and home.....
Without his time and help I would still be floundering in the land of 'not completed another one'...

Our friend Keith is a respectable and modest man who could never be accused of bragging about himself, but he's a great contributor here on Armorama (and also with our AMPS chapter).

So, for all of his friends here who would like to know more, Keith had a very successful showing at the Sumter event. (This was also the first public exhibition of Keith's models in many, many years - long overdue!)

In addition to his "Best Vignette," Keith also earned the following accolades:

Intermediate Skill-Level Gold Medals in these four categories-

Cat. III, Closed Top Tracked Post-1945, for his "FV4034 Challenger 2 TES, 2010"

Cat. V, Wheeled Vehicles and Armored Cars all eras, for his "Supacat Coyote"

Cat. X, Dioramas, for his work titled "The Pause"

and Cat. XI, Vignettes, for the subject of this thread, his "Warrior WRAP."

In addition to the special award for "Best Vignette," Keith also won the "Best Commonwealth" special award for his "FV4204 Chieftain ARV."

And finally, last but certainly not least, Keith's "FV4204 Chieftain ARV" also won the Show Theme Award, "Hand Grenades & Atom Bombs: Cold War Armor Along the Iron Curtain."

I might also add that Keith attended the AMPS Field Judges Certification Seminar and earned his AMPS National Judges' pin by completing more than the required number of judging shifts!

Just so no one thinks that Keith enjoyed any "local, hometown" advantage in the judging, all of the models and works are judged by teams of four judges, each judge scoring independently of the others. Also, the overwhelming number of judges came from outside of of our local area, from AMPS chapters in VA, GA, NC, and FL.

Well done, Keith! Let's hope it's not another decade and a half before you decide to exhibit again!

Thank's Mike ...

In reality Sir I have got to give you the accolades for bringing me into the show ring once more... Sense and sensibility prevailed along with meeting with those who look at model making the same way I do, as a fun item and wonderful outlet...

AMPS has shown me that judging can be fair and impartial, (Nuff said).

Without your and your wife's VERY hard work at running our chapter and this and the past two shows, we would all look like 'Ducks'... I probably do anyway.

Thank you so very much for all you have done here, for the club and for AMPS on a national level.

Sorry to hear that but you know the saying, "If at first you don't succeed etc."

I have received my Canadian Leopard 2A6 Barracuda camo. conversion and the 432 Bulldog full kit (interior and exterior) this year and just a few days ago a British 4X4 Ridgeback full kit with Slats (gated)... Ridgeback may not hit the market due to the complexity and pain in the rear casting problems...

Why not try again, you might just be lucky ( he is aware of your interest)..

I don't wish to comment any further on Cromwell's actions or inactions...

Keith.
