Paul,
I have found it is much easier to hold on to those tiny parts with a handle left on

now if we could just get the PE makes to add handles to their tiny parts.
As for the tracks, Thanks but I can just use the kit rubber band tracks till I get my order but it will look crap.
Cheers Rob.

Trumpeter's black (rubber) part of the wheel was thicker half a milimeter (even less than this), but I thinned that rubber part before take the photo, they have same measurements. You are right, Trumpeter wheel looking larger on the photo, in my opinion different colors cause this optical illusion.

Looks good John, are you going afghan or Russian with the markings? I'm in the same boat as you, just finished up the figures and accessories, but still have like 50% left on finishing the hull.

Christopher I was planning something like the T-62's in Ossetia
I'll need to add some Nato Black / Black Green and a Pale Sand / Yellowish tone.
But I didn't find any schemes or photos from many angles to apply a right camo all over the tank...
Will have to improvise...

John I have class tonight and I will check my HDD as I have a very larger collection of anything T-62 related. I know I have a few with side shoot you can use, there are also some that have a grey paint scheme deployed to Georgia.

Great to see everyone progressing, and some nice reference pics being posted too!
I got a pop-up photo booth in the post and so was able to have a play; was impressed with the results! So a full photo shoot of where I'm at has been posted on my
BLOG.
Meanwhile here's a couple of pics to wet your appetite:

Hi there,
you guys are putting out some fantastic looking builds

.
I'd love to see all these builds and maybe one or two more done in style, and not rushed with things going wrong.
Which is why I am going to ask the campaign admin for an extension

.
I have heard that he is a reasonable bloke and good mate if you know him

, so I think we should be in with a good chance
John (Nito74) Could we
please have some extra time on here?
I would like to ask for 3 weeks, campaign end on the 22 May 2014

.
Paul

Hey Paul the 3 extra weeks works for me. I actually had to drop out of a few campaigns just to finish this one, I still have the bigcats to finish and then I can jump onto your desertized campaign.

Awesome!
With three extra weeks I can probably finish all three models I had planned for this campaign.

The 3 week extension will help me too, just got the tank primed more to follow.
I love the wrecked or abandoned look, those kits look great.
I take it those action shots are fairly recent, early T-62s still in use. That would be like the US using early M60A1s pre RISE, or M48A5s.

Thomas the pictures of the T-62 were from back in 2008 when Russia invaded Georgia. Yes they are they early 67/72 models with a few upgraded M's thrown in the mix. You have to also remeber when russia commits their older tanks to action their not expecting some big draw out battle. No need to waste your newer more expensive tanks for cannon fodder. Most modern tank Georgia had was the T-72SIM1 and if I remember right most were either not out at close range if not close quater.

Hi everyone on this great campaign.
I've got a question on the T-55A.
I'm building a CMK interior into my T-55. What colors must I use to paint the canon? Instruction gives me a list of colors, but where to use is a big question.
Hope to get some answers. I know you're all busy in these extra 3 weeks, but thanks in advance.

Robert this should help you some
http://www.network54.com/Forum/47209/thread/1041049231/1043830221/%26quot%3BDuck+Hunter%26quot%3B++T-55'sThe breech is usually overall green, while the block can be in both green or black. Then there's a organish red color around the opening of the breech. The greens do vary from tank to tank like you see in the picture.

Thanks Chris.
Pictures are of great help. I'm building a GDR T-55A.
Conversion from CMK almost gave me a headache today, but I discovered some mistakes I made myself, so I blamed the Trumpy
It's a big adventure to create something descent out of it.
But like I said CMK and also Verlinden & Aber AM products are of great help.
Cheers,

Thanks a lot Paul.
The more I see them pics from in the interior, my respect for the crew is growing. Now it's a question of scaling down the things I see. I still need to add some parts on the inside turret, but there so much parts 'missing' from the CMK kit.
But these pics are a big step to get things clear.
When results are worth showing, I will open a new topic on this.
Cheers,
RJ
