If May is the release date they should start showing up on eBay in a couple weeks, though I haven't seen anything yet

The T-80BV release is probably far away, we have seen only the CAD images so far.

Lots of speculation. I am quite happy with a T-80, T-80BV, and T-80U regardless of who does them. Do the T-80UD and the "Black Eagle" turret and I am good.

My thoughts are all the vehicles that can be done by Trumpeter with the T-80 running gear and lower hull parts....hmmmmmmm

Tough choice at 70$. It's either box with some plastic in it or half tank of racing gas...
But if they get it right and the kit will actually be free of serious errors, no need to spend money on a lot of AM stuff, then I'm quite comfortable with it priced that way.

Merit has the test sprues on display at AMPS Nats this weekend, I'll try and get some photos snapped if I get the time.

Well. I've found that, being a loyal and determined customer of my lhs, for five years gives me a 25% discount. Instead of $70, I can probably get it for ~$54. I may see if they can order one of these, for me. I imagine indi links will run me ~$20.

I didn't get any pictures of it, but looked at the same display, and was more that suitably impressed with the quality of tooling. Not having any plans handy to compare it to, I can't speak to accuracy at all, but the moldings were very crisp, the detail was sharp, and overall it was a MASSIVE improvement over the old Dragon kits (of course it wouldn't take much).

Being the first kit from a new company, I can say MY concerns about the quality of the moldings - AT LEAST - were more than laid to rest.

And as far as the debate on the price, given that every other modern Soviet tank coming out of late (Trumpy T-64s) are $65 SRP (not what you really pay) the SRP (again, not what you'll actually pay) is at least in the ballpark on this offering.

The only downside was that Tony Chin of Merit said it wasn't going to be around until July - so that was a bit of a let down.

Of course, I picked up more than enough at the show to keep me busy until then!

Thanks Dave.

So far it looks GOOD. Now to get one in hand, to open the sealed bag and smell the fresh scent of virgin styrene, to caress it and dream of all the wonderful paint variations....er, ahem....carry on.

Ran in to a problem, with my lhs. They have had no business with Xscale Models. This makes ordering one dificult.

I'll sit this one out and wait for the Trumpy version.

Hi Everybody;

Matt; whos the LHS that your refering too ? H.T.USA or is it a
Private Owner, Im Pretty sure it will be available at your LHS.
Even if you have too Special Order it, Stevens will provide it at some time. And if E-bay is anything else they will have a ton of listing for it aswell.
Just Give It time !!!

CHEERS; MIKE.
