That "Connecticut State Police" APC has a boarding ladder or ramp on the roof and back. It elevates to allow SWAT teams to storm up to the second or third stories without using rope or hand-carried ladders.
I agree that SWAT and Police and EMS vehicles are sorely lacking from the model kit market. EMS Modelers have been asking for these modern plastic and resin kits for decades, and I don't mean 1/87 scale or diecasts either. We don't even have plastic kits of modern pickups, SUVs, ambulances, or Ford Crown Vics.

Just saw a Bearcat G3 in a Dunkin Donuts parking lot in Billerca, MA, but by the time I got turned around to take pictures it was gone. Single military tires in the rear made it a G3. Had Massachusetts Offical Plates (blue tags) and was in overall Forest or NATO green (couldn't tell which on the fly).
Sorry I wasn't quicker for you all.

RHINO lined interior. Makes sense. Would have never thought of that, myself. I see that there is a campaign, now. I can't handle any more, right now. As is, I will have to wait some months to start on mine.

Looks like MRAP's are making it into PD inventories through DRMO now. First I've heard of it, but Ohio State's public safety got themselves a MaxxPro.
And Watertown NY as well it seems. The NY truck will be painted black and decaled to match the rest of the fleet.

Police head to a home on the 1800 block of Coolidge Road in East Lansing, where a suspect in two fatal shootings eventually surrendered. The first person was shot at the Frandor Rite Aid and the second was shot near the Coolidge Road home, on May 12, 2014.

Currently, the DOD is offering Caiman 6x6 MRAPs to Departments participating in the Federal 1033 program.
I tried to talk our Mayor into letting me get one. He said no. (Not that we would have a use for it anyway)

Unfortunately, most lightbars are 1/24 and 1/25 scale. There are lightbars in 1/43 scale though. Check out policecarmodels.com.
I guess 1/35 lightbars is an item the aftermarket companies will have to consider making. Also, there are modelers who custom-make lightbars although none in 1/35. If you're really adventurous, you could contract one of these lightbar makers to create a 1/35 lightbar for you.

You could get one of the old Monogram 1/32 snap Malibu kits. They came as a Fire Chief car or a Police car and had a usable light bar.
There are also a slew of die-cast 1/32 police vehicles you could scavenge a light bar off of.

Those lightbars are completely wrong for any modern police vehicle. I'm not sure what brand they are supposed to represent, but lightbars like that were obsolete 20+ years ago when I started the job. Modern lightbars almost all use led lights. Typically they are almost as wide as the roof of the vehicle but they are much flatter. Many of them have clear outer faces. You don't see the colors until they are on. I realize those are probably the only 1/35 scale lightbars out there, But they would be completely wrong for an mrap in police use. Like... Having an infantryman in with Iraq carrying a Thompson.

If you want dimensions of the lightbar, let me know, I'll measure up the ones at work for you my next shift.
I think the bigger problem will be decals... I don't fancy free handing that star and writting...
Am very keen on doing one of these beasts in black. A bearcat in 1/35 would also be welcome.
