Ok fellow campaigners. Off to late start.
Here's my entry, pic taken last saturday. Mostly it will be OOB, except small Eduard Zoom PE set and LionRoar metal barrel. Also I have printed out Neil Stoke's "recipe" to watch out some issues on kit and make it little bit more accurate. Otherwise Trumpeter KV-1 is accurate enough for most of us modelers.
One thing, I'm not sure of, is the barrel. I have LR B3508 L-10 76.2 mm barrel but real thing had ZIS-5 gun. AM barrel is similar in length and appearance as kit barrel, so I think I can use this one?

It looks like some of you are off to a great start. I am keen to watch as these builds progress. I have started putting the lower hull together on my M1131 FSV and here is where she currently stands.

Welcome Kimmo, Jason & Keith !!!

Here's my update :

Next step,

Still need to work on the other side.

After this is wheels & suspension...

There is no indication for colours, I don't know if the wheels have a rubber tire ( rubber black / panzer grey scheme) -- will it be visible ?

Maybe hours of tedious wheel painting , to be hidden behind that suspension...

I would paint them black (even though I am suspicious they are all metal wheels) because the drawings here show them that way:

Yeah... I've been doing some looking around on the kit, when I should be building. And I think they will be visible too.

Not much progress... except installed all the suspension arms and epoxied the mantlet and muzzle brake to the aluminum barrel.

Too much shopping and lurking today but I should return to it this weekend.

Only got around to adding the 1st layer of paint tonight. Now to fix the flaws that are oh so visible now.

John, and others vis that NBFZ...

Yes, it had rubber tires (show up in the photos of this monster - distinct if rather narrow rim-flanges with the solid rubber tires very similar to those seen on later panzers 1, II, III and IV.)

Looking at your sprue shots, appears Trumpeter has indeed pretty well presented those little rim-flanges... so let's see those little rubber tires! (yeah, they will be visible...)

What probably is missing is any embossed "Continental" (Continentau, if it were a Dragon kit ) labels on those tires...

I can see that the NBFZ is NOT the place to go for a rest if one is feeling Panzer IV road-wheel fatigue!

Made some more progress on my little baby:

The 3 piece upper hull fits like a dream!

The suspension bump stops did give me some trouble and had to be pressed into place, but so far no real issues as that is very encouraging for me to continue on! I also need to get on the IS-3M which is one of my favorite Russian tanks.

Take care !

Looks great John! Don't have too much fun with that suspension now!

I think you came up with the BEST idea yet... having an all Trumpeter Campaign!

Thanks Jeff !!!!!!!!

The suspension is going to be tricky.. I'll have to find a way to get the wheels painted first, and also the spring mount has some PE so I'll need to prime it and paint it too before assembly..

My ASU-85 is finally equipped with it's 85mm thanks to the arrival today of the resin mantlet. Now, on to the tracks and wheels. Even when I was actually an armor crewman I hated working with tracks. At least now these aren't quite as heavy or cumbersome.

Smokey,
The mantlet cover really adds to the vehicle's look. I built one OOB for the TD/SPG Campaign last year. It's a neat looking vehicle and builds up nicely. I was a bit surprised that some never made their way Yugoslavian hands. Imagine one with rubber side skirts or a 50cal on the top.

Hello everyone
This is my first post here and my first campaign, after looking at everyone's very fine work on this site I have decided to join in and have a go.
I will be building the 1:35 Sturer Emil anti tank gun.

I already have some after market brass shells and projectiles and am waiting for a aluminum / brass barrel as well as some workable tracks. To replace the kits vinyl ones.
I look forward to seeing everyone's great work and being a part of this campaign...cheers

Welcome to your first Campaign Jason!

You will really enjoy the Emil... John and I have both built one and they go together without any issues.

I just received my bmp and, I have to say, I am a bit disappointed. I have built other bmps, by Trumpeter and the box was crammed full of sprue. This one has about six. Should be a quick build and I may do another. I'll post some photos, later on.

Thanks Jeff & Lonewolf for the welcomes. I was actually lucky and picked this up on special from the LHS for AU $23 and another $9 for the brass shells.
Well I have spent the best part of the day working on this huge beastie.

Torsion bar suspension fitted

With all suspension arms fitted, the kit so far is a pleasure to build..unlike some of the braile scale nightmares I have done lately!

Two steaming hot mugs of wheels coming up, wheels are the only part of building tanks I don't really enjoy.

Test fit of all those road wheels on the lower hull. I have a new compressor arriving early this coming week so will paint all the wheels first before they are attached to the hull.
