I know guys liked to use empty ammo cans for carrying maint. stuff and so I used one of the great resin ones from Wally and painted the cloth items as if they were cleaning rags and there is a gift on top of them for my buddy Mike, a set of headspace and timing gauges!

Oh, very cool, Jerry!

The details make all the difference and the RIGHT details, even more so. Once again, your 1/1 scale experience speaks the truth in 1/35 scale!

So, I guess no more jokes about "operator headspace and timing"?

Maybe we can still send someone down to supply for a box of grid squares...

Our big one was sending the new guys to the motor sgt for a can of track tension.
Thanks again for checking in here man, means a lot when you guys do.

Jerry that's absolutely jaw-dropping my friend!

M2 looks perfect now!! Congrats!

Love those ammo cans too!!

And look at that nice earth/mud colour, will ye!!

Thanks for reminding me that a lube flacon should be part of the barrel-changing scene.

More pictures please!!!

Cheers bro!

Thanks for the comments and glad to oblige!
I know there is still too much red in the dirt but I am too broke to buy any other colors of that stuff right now.
I would post more pics but I don't want to bore everybody with too many. What do you want to see? Other angles? I will be happy to oblige.

Hi Jerry,

I know that colours in photographs are a tricky bit anyway, but the pic showing in closeup the replacement barrel and the lube flacon shows a perfect colour! Nothing to change here!

And more pics please...I bet the others will agree that you cannot possibly bore us!

Different angles sounds great BTW!

Next will be the Ramcke boys I suppose!?

Has your eyesight finally improved???

All the best

I will see what I can do about more pics. Something happened to my camera. I looked back at earlier pics on this same thread and I can't get pics that close anymore with the exact same camera. Very odd.
My eyes are getting better(knock on wood)but I think I still need to wait until I attempt faces again. That is usually the first part I paint, the fleash parts,so that kind of cuts me off for a little more time.
I actually think I will revisit the "Zack zack Junge" as most of the figgie work is already finished and the ground work could be done while I am waiting.
There is never a shortage of works in progress around here, trust me!!

Thanks for the kind words buddy. It was a long haul. I just noticed as it was brought to my attention on another site, the squad leader is incorrectly positioned and so has his weapon pointed at the gun team. Good thing nothing is glued down yet! Big goof on my part as I was so worried about the painting and finishing of the last items I missed something so obvious. Oi!

I wouldn't have noticed the positioning issue if it hadn't been pointed out hahaha.

This is GREAT! The figures and the groundwork complement each other perfectly, it's all great down to literally the smallest details. I think that blows me away more than anything. It looks like the pine trees are made with The Scenic Factory kits? I really can't put into words how awesome this little scene is. You got yourself an award winner here, sir.

Also, I chuckled at the little story line you threw in hahaha.

Looking forward to how the other dioramas come out!

Jerry- very fine work here my friend- I've been watching this come together from the start and have enjoyed seeing the figures and the scene being brought together. The interaction of the figures is second-to-none and the small scene really works with the figures- plus that backdrop really sets a nice tone over things and it matches the groundwork superbly!

@DJ-Thanks for checking in and taking the time to post a few words man,
@Al-Nice to hear from you and thanks for the comments buddy
@Bob-Thanks a bunch for posting your comments buddy
@Conor- It did make a difference to me about the rifle pointing in the wrong direction as I make a big deal out of accuracy. I repoed it now and have to rake more pics. I would like to take some outside on a suitably overcast day just as it was back when this event happened. Thanks for staying with me during this endless project little brother.

Jerry,

This is a great vignette!

It really "rings true," and that's because it's composed from the point of view of actually occupying the position, operating the gun, and engaging the enemy. It also doesn't suffer from any of those little modeler's "affectations" that make a lot of otherwise well done works look like Hollywood sets and imaginary and childish backyard "cowboys and Indian" play.

On top of that, the craftsmanship and work are, of course, top notch which "seals the deal" on the realism.

Well done, my friend, and fitting tribute to guys who were there!

Thanks for commenting. It's great to hear from the sgt maj.and I am glad you appreciate the difference I tried to show here.
Yes,those guys deserve the tribute. That was one of the things that kept me going, specially yesterday when I was hand wrapping and cutting that teeny tiny strand of barbed wire. Heh heh.
Look forward to your next update with the Bren,my fren

I don't doubt your closeness to the scene as you are looking through your evergreen products to see it! Hahaha

Played around with a little forced perspective. I could use a much better backdrop though.
If you wait around long enough, every gun crew will have a target!!
