Sorry, everyone! Been out skiing for a couple of days, and just getting caught up on the latest news...

@roteck: sorry to hear about your fit problems. I don't remember having any when I built that kit, and I definately don't remember having to extend the lower hull like that, but then again maybe mine is just screwed up and I don't realize it. Wouldn't be the first time that happened!

@armored76: I've not tried chipping with a sponge before, but with those kinds of results I'm going to have to give it a try. Looks great!

@jmsbd07: Great-looking Flakvierling. I think I agree with you that the tires look pretty new compared to the rest and would probably benefit from some dust or a lighter shade of off-black.

Some progress on my Ostwind Flak Panzer. After putting on the primer and a base yellow/sand color about a month ago, started to put down the other colors. So far I have the green and outlined where I want to spray the brown.

Looks great, Chris! Nice and clean build.

I LOVE the net on the gun! Is this a metallic net of some kind? Was it supplied with the kit or is is scratch-built?

One thing I'm not sure about is the camo on the front spare links. I don't _think_ the camo extended over these...

Cheers,
Cristian

Hi, thanks for the comments. The kit supplies the brass catcher as photo-etch. I have a hard time working with it so I replaced it with nylon mosquito netting. I think looks closer to some of the period pictures which look to be nothing more than chicken wire attached to the frames.

I will likely re-paint the spare tracks but since a lot of camouflage schemes were painted by the crews themselves its very possible that spare tracks got painted as well

Really hate the way this pattern came out but I'll make it work somehow Got one wash on it and a overall filter of the base color to blend the colors in. Needs lots more filters, washes and weathering. Put it aside to dry and cure a bit, so I pulled this 2 year old hanger queen out to finally do some work on it.

The Wirbelwind looks good to me. A bit more weathering and I think you'll have a winner!

Not sure why you hate the camo. With the filter on it all looks clean and dandy to me... The pattern itself also doesn't look obviously wrong or anything.

Very cool, Andras!

BTW, it looks like you're posting thumbnails in the forums. Not sure if that is intentional, but if not, I think you are adding the wrong link to your posts. When you get the link from the gallery, don't use the link for the embedded thumbnail; rather, click on the icon next to it then copy the link that appears below that.

Hey everybody,

I think I can call this done unless somebody sees something that can be improved.

Feedback is more than welcome!

Thanks,
Cristian

Nice conversaion, Andras. Looks very nice. I would drill out the end of the empty sheels with a fine drill or give them a small back dot at the end.
Love the mix of the two types of camouflage. Beautiful little build.

Christian, that is an awesome build. More close ups please! The subtle weathering and the weathering of the tires look perfect.

Thank you; I think I did mess up the thumbnail-normal image link. apologies.

Thank you Jesper; it was the first ever conversion I tried, so I was worried a lot. Since then I actually bought a set of drills (I only had two or three larger ones), so I'll go back, and drill the shell casings out.

Welcome to the party, eMan! A nice choice of weapon, if I may say! Looking forward to see more of it, especially the camo.

Cheers,
Cristian

Cristian- That is a superb looking build, really menacing gun there.
Speaking of Bofors... I am going to be building a Nimrod.

I've heard that constructing the tracks are a nightmare so I splurged for some fruils. I started back in December, but I haven't built much yet. Hopefully a month is enough time.

Sal- I remember when you would routinely finish your campaigns two weeks after the start date. I take a break from the hobby and when I come back the world is upside down.

Christian,
That's a superb piece of work! Since you did ask for feedback I will offer up two comments: The covers on the pole-looking thing on the side (spare barrel container?) look pretty shiny, even for new canvas, and the decals look like kind of bright (added after weathering?).

Speaking of weathering, your rust and dirt look great--that thing has spent too much time in the rain and snow!

Thanks everyone! You're too kind!

The spare barrel is indeed a bit shiny. That was hand-painted and it usually turns out that way for whatever reason. I'm going to spray some flat clear over it to matt it down.

As for the decals, I guess that's due to the level manipulation I made on the photo in post-processing. It doesn't look that shiny in real. Still, I will have a look to see if I can maybe add a filter over it.

Nathan, that's a great choice for the campaign! Being half-Hungarian I have that on my list along with the Turan and Toldi but have been scared by the track reviews so far and am not yet prepared to cash out for the Friul parts. I'm definitely interested in seeing this one growing

Cheers,
Cristian
