Phantastic work Mario!
The level of dedails you put into the model is just stunning.
Can't wait to see the figures painted.
Kudos

That is amazing work. I can't ever hope to come close to the level of detail you achieve in your work but I can really enjoy that level through your photos. Many thanks for giving me a lot of inspiration and unknowing encouragement in my own model making.
One question... what was the base kit you used for the Humvee?

Ops, sorry I missed this one...
Thanks Shane for your comments. The base kit was Tamiya's M1025.

Quite some work on the big Black Dog resin chunk going into the cargo bay:
There is still some putty work to be done, but I'm happy with the work so far.
Mario
I should've heeded your advise and ran fast and far way from the Black Dog conversion kit. It truly is a "dog". Mine came with bad castings, broken parts and as yours, a lot of warped components. Sad, because you can tell a lot went into the design work.
TBH my first and last experience with Black Dog.

Actually, I was thinking of giving Black Dog the piece I "re-mastered" so they could make castings from it. Not sure if that would help with the conversion though...

@18Bravo et all. Is the chassis on all these "Desert" GMV mostly the same sand color as the body? In some pictures I see sand and others i've seen black chassis'

Incredible work. I had an 11 year break in modelling and returned to get some ideas for my WIP SOF GMV. I'll be looking at this thread to find all the after market parts you used.
Now I need to learn how to make straps for mine.
Again, incredible work.

Thank you for reminding me of this project.
@11Bravo_C2. I don't remember seeing GMVs with black chassis, so I guess black-colored chassis Humvees were an exemption to the rule?
@ANGSOWT. Thank you! Unfortunately, some of the parts I used for this build are no longer available, as Pro Art is no longer operational.
I really need to start with the figures and finalize this project.

As an AMPS and IPMS judge, and if it was my choice, I would just go ahead and give you Judge's Choice/Grand Award, and Most Popular (chosen by other contestants). Cut the middle man out right from the get go!
I know photography can take away, or hide detail, but if a contest was completely on line by photo submissions, this vehicle would win, hands down! After repeated, and numerous, re-evaluations, I found no downside to your work. Well done, Well done indeed!

I lucked out and got two Pro Art kits (one early, one late) off eBay. I like the antennas you have, scratch built or aftermarket?

John, thanks! I did enter the model in couple of competitions but it didn't do well unfortunately.
Brett, I got the antennas from Adler's Nest: link

I have two of their SOF HumVee sets, one early and one with PE.
Thanks for the antennae link, ordering some tonight.

These would also come in handy:link
I don't think the comms set is included in Pro Art Dumvee set.
