Great thread Mario. You are doing incredible work and I'm glad it is still going on. I just sat down and read the entire build so far and I loved every bit of it. You have a talent for an eye and its shows in this project. I will have to do a research on your previous build and see if I can learn few trick of trade from your work

I did some more work on it after posting the last photos in this thread, but since then the project is on hold. I haven't touched a model in a couple of months now. I just don't feel like modeling these days.

This is A class quality work, well done.

I haven't touched this one in a long, long time. Now I do have a quick update on the roof and chassis:





There are still some things to finish on these pieces, wires, etc.

In the meantime I started with the weapons ring. Legend provides ammo rack and various other tidbits, I added AT4s from Live Resin and some other details. Here's how it looks now:

At last an update! Detailing madness, great painting.

Is the undercarriage finished? I can see a wash done on every element, but some of them should be in different colors (white fuel tank, metal colors on engine block or exhaust eyc.).

BTW - how do You do such delicate and equal wash/shadows?

Yes, chassis is not finished... the fuel tank, exhaust, etc. I'm not worried about these details too much as they will be barely visible anyway.

Sure, sorry I missed answering that question in the previous reply.

After a gloss coat dried thoroughly, I apply a precise enamel pinwash trying to get as little overspill as possible. After about 10 minutes of drying I take a brush slightly dampened with enamel thinner and carefully wipe off any spill that might have happened. For this model I used OIF Wash from AK and Dark Wash from MIG Productions.

Mario, it is so good to see some new work on this one. You really don't disappoint. Your detail work is second to none (sorry Kuba and Piotr!) The finish on the chassis is perfect. Thank you for the breakdown of your wash technique. I'm glad Kuba asked about it. I can't wait to see more.

Mario, where did you get the ammo box on page 6 with the angled lid? I contacted JS' Shape Works (j-shape) on Shapeways a while back. I've seen a couple of his things used here. He got back to me a few weeks later and said he'd posted a set to his store. I ordered a set and they came a few days ago. There is eighteen cans in the set in three varieties; closed lid, open lid with ammo and open lid empty. There are twelve lids for the open cans. They really came out fantastic. I'll try to take some pictures and send them to you along with others I owe you.

Eric, the 7.62 ammo can? It is from the old Legend ammo box set. I'm definitely interested to see the cans you are talking about.

M2 from Live Resin and some scratch... There is a noticeable size difference between Legend and Live Resin, so some cutting and fitting was neccessary. The ammo can was scratchbuilt so I could fit the ammo belt the way I wanted.



And here is a Peltor ComTac... I'm pretty happy with how that one turned out.
