Girl's night last night, so this is turning into a speed-build for me.
More bits, all I need (that I'm aware of) is to scrounge up a couple of US-style tow cables, some jerry cans, and maybe soft stowage, then decide whether or not to use the set of DS T80E1 tracks or not..

Funny: So now in addition to having parts from everybody's M50/51 kits on this thing, I have some from Dragon's M26/46 sprues that come in some of their
Sherman kits. A good parts stash is a happy parts stash.

My Leopard 2 is coming along nicely, although this kit requires some putty to plug some gaps.

Hey ho guys ...yes it is i and i have kinda returned for a small time as i am a long way from home and my model desk.
I am loving the builds in here ... you guys have surprised me again with some amazing ideas and some simple ones too.
Every idea looks awesome and i hope to hell i will be home soon and get started on mine and to be honest ...i dont have the slightest idea what i am going to build ,,the ol mind is blank right now .

There was just enough nice weather this weekend to paint, so everything I had ready to be painted got hosed:
Tamiya TS-46 light sand, from the can, over Krylon flat khaki camo color. I going to try doing the stowage later, see how that works for me.

Looks nice, Russell. Did you use a rattle can to spray? It seems like a fine and even coat. Something that is difficult for me with a rattle can.
What are your plans for camouflage?

Thanks, Jesper. I painted using the can. I've had a fair amount of practice, and have found some paints that work very well from the can. Testor's/Model Master is not on the top of my list.

By the way, i've just ordered Pak 43, and besides, i got a 'dead' warrior MCV hull. Maybe a crossover between WW2 and modern will be a crazy tank destroyer
Or maybe a tiger's hull would do better with it, any advices?

Go all in and use the warrior hull. That could be a really badass looking tank hunter.

Possibly. I have a Italeri upper body from their old Armoured Maultier Nebelwurfer kit. I was thinking about mounting it on a modified Panzer 4 suspension. I was thinking of maybe an experimental APC or maybe even an amphibious landing craft. I'm really playing it loose and designing this one as I go.

Well, then,plan is fixed. A tank hunter with a 88mm cannon onboard MCV. I got 2 possibilites with that, then. The first one is to put the cannon above the roof without any HUGE modification, then adding the shield, with a hole (or hatch)(a large one) behind the cannon for the gun crews, OR to eliminate the roof, dig it up until the rear part opened, and put the gun there, where the gun sits besides the driver.
Any ideas on this?

I got the decals on last night, and painted the tires on the road wheels, something I truly hate doing.....
I think I'm ready for a flat coat and then washes.

Thanks for the opinion, jesper! I'm thinking about that one too. I've realised that it will be harder that most of my builds, but i'll give it a shot. Well, the other thing is, should it be open-top or closed-top? I'd like to show the cannon, but making an interior is not going to be a piece of cake tho.

Okay, i got it. Tarps. Hmm, that would look great! Less hardwork for the interior! And if it's hard for you, then it's at least twice as hard for me. On the way to my drawing board

Sorry for not updating for a while. Some small progress over the last week.
Cleaned up the wiring. Not perfect, but will be OK once painted. If I was doing it again I'd have attached to the inner points before assembly.
And started adding detail to the inside:
Now ready to put the top on then add windows, doors and start painting the outside.

Sean, interior's looking great!
I did some washes on mine last night and got the tracks painted. A first for me, I'm using commercial washes instead of making my own, and I have to admit, they're very nice. I'm using ModelMaster acrylic "brown" and "black", easy to thin, no water marks, and they flow really well.

After doing some very light wear marks around high-traffic areas, I'll do the dust using powdered pastel chalks, my usual method, and then seal it up with some clear flat. I don't know yet if I'll do lots of stowage, or keep it "clean", but it's getting close.

whoaa, everyone's doing great now, while i haven't finished my abrams, and haven't start the warrior-thingy-tank-hunter yet
well, got the idea for the warrior, by the way.
so maybe i'm gonna let the roof. just going to make an opening to the middle of the roof, where the turret used to belong. the cannon will stay on the front of the opening, while the crew will be inside. the cannon would be chest-level, so the crews are a bit more protected. i'll let the hatch on the roof near the backdoor, but i'm gonna change the backdoor & driver's hatch.
need to work harder for it

You are correct. Alligatoren is the plural form. So Alligator in german is: Alligator. Pronounced differently of course.
