We'll see if it actually gets built. The Russian Ruble has crashed, and their foreign exchange revenue is way down due to falling oil prices.

True. Russia's going through a tough economic crunch after a relatively good rise after the fall of the Soviet Union. Money for such projects have been tough to come by. They even did there own bit of space tourism selling rides on Soyuz trips to the space station for millionaire passengers.

I do hope we get a glimpse of this machine (for real) at this year's Victory Day Parade.

I have to wonder how it would stand up to an A-10. I imagine that is one of the reasons for the AA guns, on the side of the turret.

I think the gatling gun is for attack helos. I m not sure if it would stand up to a solid A-10 attack. How can the Russians afford this program??

Looks a lot like a Merkava that borrowed the side anti-aircraft cannons from a modern Gepard.

It was my understanding that the drawings with the AA guns are just pure fantasy/fan art.

When is the parade that these are supposed to be in? May 1st?

i think the A-10s would have bigger things to worry about ... America would not be guaranteed to have it's own way in the air considering they would have to deal with the Russian airforce as well as the best multi-layered air defense systems in the world

Plus one of the reasons they want to retire the Hog is that it's not that effective anymore against modern armor.

I would tend to disagree with that. The armor on top is still pretty thin on modern tanks and afvs

It looks like they based it on the Stryker MGS. Wouldn't the Terminator already fulfill this role?
