Since I can't edit the post now, I meant to say Robert... I just forgot his name at the moment.

The R11 Fueler also uses an in-line 6 cylinder engine, so not likely. The vehicle is something smaller than a large truck-type vehicle, which almost all use in-line 6 cylinder diesel engines, not V-8 diesels.

If Robert is involved he will have promised to keep the secret until the manufacturer (whoever it is) decides to go public with the news. We'll just have to sit here and wait while those who know sit there and giggle at us squirming with frustrated curiosity

Or act like school children.

I KNOW SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW!! NEENER! NEENER! NEEENER!!!

Sorry, K man, that's too long a list to ponder here.

As for whether it's an R11 refueler, it is not. However, if you like/want/need that vehicle, you're in luck. I helped Kinetic with three different versions of it, Gens I, II, and III. Gens I and III have already been released in 1/48. Gen II is still on the way. I posted some photos on Aeroscale to help a dude who was building one. It's missing the roof vents and some undercarriage plumbing, but I posted the photos on the site so that other could scratch build them if they wished.

As for myself, I'm glad there people who still know how to have a little fun on the internet. You know, the kind that doesn't require the use of pre-loaded credit cards.

I know I want it, I just wish I knew What it is that I want ...
Oh well, plenty of other kits to keep my mind occupied ...

I just wish that those refuellers had been in 1:35th scale instead of 1:48 ..... Being rich beyond imagination with 36 hours of spare time per day would also be nice ....

I'm just wondering why these companies are soo tight liped on the kits they are making. Is it just so other companies will not rob them of their ideas.

Oh, I'd love a styrene CUCV and CUCV Blazer. Drove them while in the National Guard; they were fun to drive and I'd buy a bunch if they were 1/35 plastic instead of resin and metal.

I don't think that is what it is. The engine looks too new for a CUCV. CUCVs had late '70s and early '80s 350s in them. The original pic is a much more modern engine.

Phew !!! I just bought the M1009 & M1008 from Miniman Factory so I was a little afraid that they might turn up as styrene kits in the near future

reviewing some of the old posts, Rob mentioned that some old timers might have a stroke.... peacekeepers pretty old..... and I dont think it was built to withstand IED blasts so much as It was to absorb bullet immpacts.... either way..we wont know till da boss gets back from whatever vacation spot he finds himself in.

Image that, a 1/16 Humvee! But which version? Too many options! It would be an after-market industry in itself. An SF one with mini-gun, oh yeah. IDF. SAS. Vanilla Humvee. And the you'd want to crew it...

Having posted this before and elsewhere on this site, I thought it fitting to post here as well. My top pick and choice: the AML 90 (and 60)!!!

Again, look at the pic Rob posted.

And the pic I posted earlier in this thread of a '98 Chevy C/K 3500 6.5 liter diesel engine from a similar angle. It looks to have the same alternator mount and fan bearing mount. I think it is the same basic engine.

Based on these pics; newer 350 or larger engine (serpentine belt, modern tensioner pulley, aluminum fan shroud), the open bottom (you can see the yellow striping on the pavement below), the fact that Rob photographs and builds mostly modern equipment and he is SF, I don't think it is any armored car from the '60s.

My guess is still either a modern HMMWV or MRAP-type vehicle or a modern civilian-based (PMC) guntruck with a GM 6.5L Diesel engine.
