Chipping nice and restrained. The ammo boxes are a bit light. A wash during weathering? Coming along nicely overall.

Thank you very much, Armorsmith!

Yes the ammo crates are very light. So they will get a dark wash during weathering. That should do the trick.

Added the decals and weathered the ammo crates to make the wood grain pop out.

I need to touch up a spot of clear coat and add one more decal and seal them in with another clear coat, then I can start weathering.

Cheers,
Dustin

Dustin,
Very nice! Do the ammo crates hint at a diorama?

Terry - Thank you very much sir. I'm kinda amazed how this junky old Tamiya kit has turned out so far. Although I wish I would have added PE grills.

Gary - No way! I don't feel skilled enough to try a Diorama. Lol

Thank you fellas

That's very true. If I try a diorama it'll probably be a Flak 37.

Instead of a diorama, try a vignette instead. No need to worry about a story line just a simple scene to get your feet wet. A base(maybe 5X7) covered in ground work with a few bits and pieces from the spares to round out the scene. For example, you might want to scatter some spent main gun rounds on the rear deck or on the ground and paint up a few rounds to go into the open crate. You could also add a couple of Jerry cans, a tree stump and some personal gear strewn about the tank. If you wanted to add 1-2 figures, some in relaxed poses like they are taking a break form their labors. Bang you're done! Just a thought.

A bit progress here. I started weathering the lower hull and tracks.

I also would like to share my other hobby with y'all. Took my race car out for the first time Friday. We had a blast.

Dustin

I gave the lower hull a pin wash tonight.

I haven't weathered the turret yet, you can see a huge co trash between the two. Weathering is an amazing thing.

Excellent outcome on this old dog. Your painting and weathering techniques are progressing very nicely and quickly as well. Wish you had better lighting so we could see more. Only crit are the ejector pin marks(the 2 circles)seen on the open ammo crate. These are a pain to fill and sand but should be tackled none the less.

Thank you for the kind comments! It's really encouraging. I know I need to start working on the EP marks. Maybe I should fill that crate with a couple rounds?

I have a few days off of work coming up. I'll take some pictures in the daylight and post them. I definitely do need some better lighting. Once I get a dedicated modeling area, I'll work on that.

Cheers,
Dustin

Thank you, Rob! It's much appreciated.

Tonight I'll work on the turret and get this a few steps closer to completion.

Made some leaking road wheel hubs. I tried to keep this "random and subtle". I hope it turned out right. Also did a bit on the back. Not over done in my opinion.

The running gear looks great. Nice grungy appearance. Addition of the leaky seals is a nice touch. You are a quick study!

Thank you very much for the kind words, Armorsmith! I think I may be able to finish this by the end if this weekend. Everything seems to be falling into place nicely. *knocks on wood*
