Thanks Jerry,

Individually, the figures are great but to see the interraction between them all- fantastic.
Real sense of urgency.

Cheers,

Kurt,Kimmo and Sean,
Thanks so much for the kind comments about this latest dio. It turns out that I usually get more comments at the beginning of a thread than when I end one!
Maybe over exposure?

Hi Jerry, I agree with Mike - why not post this as a feature? As you know, I really like watching your work the WIP almost as much as the final. Maybe folks who aren't aware of your stuff would like to see it? I'll bet they'd get an idea or two as well.

It is though sort of funny, when the build is done, it's done. I sometimes dig up my old threads and am surprised - wow - same looking at yours and others - lots of neat stuff to have a look at. Unfortunately I don't always bookmark the builds, so I find myself guessing the year and month...perfect....

Meanwhile, I'm watching your current project - wondering how you'll squeeze all those guys into the bed of that truck!

Cheers
Nick

Hey Jer! I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed watching this very dynamic scene come together and its great to finally see it all revealed. Its not often you see such different forms of movement in one scene- for instance- a guy falling, another jumping down a hill, another sprinting to the edge and a wounded soldier. Yet not only do you manage to make it all work seamlessly- you add a logical and historical story to it as well! This has, again, been a thoroughly inspiring piece of work- one we can all learn from and appreciate at the same time.

Mike,Nick,Karl and Engin,
Thank you so so much my good internet buddies for the excellent supportive comments. They came at a very good time to bolster my spirits.
I think I learned a lot from building this one hopefully and if I helped in any small way anyone else's path then all the better!
I will see what I can do about the feature, that's a good idea. I never remember that aspect of this awesome website.
Hope you enjoying a great weekend guys!

Hi Jerry,

Missed most of the build I'm afraid, inspirational stuff, excellent ground work, figure alterations and painting. Always a real pleasure to view you work. The action looks full on, hats off to you.

Cheers

Jerry,
First of all, Congrats on the completion of a First Rate work of art! To echo what everyone has clearly stated: WOW!

My issue seems to be the finishing of an idea; inspiration from historical event(s), intent to share a story, studying the subject and collection of the necessary bits, and naturally giving the time required to come to an end.

So as others have said Jerry, yours is truly inspiring and I try to follow your "work" whenever I can find it.
I've picked up some great tips (Conor is right about your treatment of OD tints and tones), and thanks to your inspiration it's back to the stash and SOD to try to finally finish something and share an ol' idea or two myself.
Thanks Again
Signed A Lurker

Sincerely,
Dave

That's what it's all about buddy!
Sharing is caring, stealing (creatively of course) is the dearest form of flattery, etc

I've only recently got back into it, and honestly your comment about lurkers not being too shy, I felt it right here, ya know!?
But seriously, your work is appreciated, and your attitude is spot on bruddah...
I really related to your comment re vehicles as center-points of interest w/ figgies as clutter -vs- figures telling the story thru human expression and personal action w/ vehicles as backdrop or complimentary pcs.
sorry maybe

Oh yes
We're all in it together, right, just from varying backgrounds of interest. This is some spot-on dio/vignette you have created make no mistake.
Personally your work represents what I can strive for, hit or miss. Because you have a supportive nature, like teaching, the experience becomes the inspiration. One can draw from it many different things. ex: Just reading (listening to) your exchange w/ other Vets or Servicemen is enlightening to those who maybe came from an artistic bkgrnd, or someone from a military family but didnt actually serve, or whoever.
Please continue Jerry, and Thank You.

cheers

Well done, man!
It is not often that you such a dramatic scene with just a handful of figures. This way both the figures and the landscape get the attention they deserve.

It has only been a little over a month since I posted the end of this. Somehow it feels way longer. Have I really made that much progress on my Ford truck already? Maybe I don't work that slowly after all?
Well I'll be....
