Hi Everyone!
So far, about 80% of the vote is for ribbon choice number 3. I'll hold voting open until Monday.

I thought I would look up tank hunters and see how much I didn't know. Some photos:

Best Wishes,

I am in with an A-10 in 1/144 which will be sporting Maverick missiles and of course its built in high velocity carnage machine.

I also vote for ribbon #3

David and Martin,
Thank you! Good to have an A-10 coming in. Depleted Uranium ammo fired from the gatling gun make her a tank killing machine even with empty pylons.

I was checking my stash and I have a SU-76.Was this used as an anti-tank gun or a self propelled infantry assault gun ? I do have a Jagdpanther.Or if I wanted to go different,I have a Shturmovik.Or I could pick up something else.
So what do you think about the SU-76 ?

Well, it fired a 76MM gun so I would say it's a tank hunter/killer.

Unless I am mistaken (certainly possible), the SU-76 was a self propelled gun meant to provide artillery support for infantry. I would think that would disqualify it from this campaign.

However, the Jadgpanther was certainly a highly feared tank hunter for a very good reason and would be well at home in this campaign. Likewise the Shturmovik, as it is a ground attack aircraft, would also fit in well here.

According to wiki the su-76 was designed for three main roles, one of which was tank hunter. So, that option is open, Anthony.

...or you could make a dio using all three....lol

Howdy Y'all
I bet every SU-76 carried some armor piercing rounds.
Take care,

The StuG was originally designed as an infantry support vehicle as it is a self propelled gun as well, but later evolved into a tank hunter... but it depends on the gun type and ammo used so ANY tank could possibly be an infantry support vehicle, just not a self propelled gun.

Dual role yes!

Now, help ME pick one.

Hello Gents...

I'm in!

According to the stash, I'm thinking a small vignette, perhaps Berlin 1945. As long as a solitary figure/tank hunter is acceptable. If not I did find a Cyber-Hobby Stug III F.
The Sept start time is perfect for me, real "life" calling my name way too often right now

Cheers

What about something a bit more different?

"Chasovnikov and another engineer, Kazarin, proposed converting Shermans into SU-85 or SU-100 SPGs, killing two birds with one stone: raising the firepower of the tanks and freeing up T-34 chassis so more T-34-85 tanks could be produced."

Alex,
Hand held anti-tank rockets fall well within the campaign parameters, so I look forward to seeing your build.

ComradeMP,
I would be very interested in seeing your conversion. With those caliber guns, there's little doubt in my mind that it was intended to be a tank hunter.

Cheers,
