Richard - Your extra work on the chassis is very impressive. The brake lines add a great touch.

Tom - Your Panzer I came out very well. The markings look hastily applied over the grey, very convincing. Your model looks so good that it is inspiring me to get my kit off the shelf.

Jeff - I like your rivets, a big improvement over the kit blank plates. Which Archer decal set did you use?

Eric - Welcome with your armored car. I did not even know this kit existed. Is it comparable in quality to the 7TP & tankette kits by the same maker?

Steven - Your kitbash sounds like fun, I'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

Jeff - I'm sorry to read about your painting & masking issues. I have been using a product called BluTack (SP?) and just bought something called Panzer Putty. I have heard good things about the putty.
I thought your colors looked pretty good in the pictures. Are they too dark to fade with a light filter or wash?

Pasi - Great job on your Panzer. The yellow markings look particularly nice and the tracks look delicate, very realistic for the scale.

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to seeing more completed builds. Early war period (Polish campaign, Phony war, early Battle of Britain) are specially interesting, possibly because there's quite little information (and good photos) available of those compared to 1941-5.

Yes, I'm with you with this interest in early war period. I wonder if there would be any interest in a Spanish Civil War campaign. Like Poland 1939 it would be for armor, aircraft, ships, figures & dioramas.

The C2P and 37mm are in! I'll need to post some pictures of these tiny resin kits. All I need now is the 1:25 scale paper model I'm going to use as a blueprint and scale reference.

Please do, you have chosen a very interesting subject and it will be fun to follow along.

Ok!
Photos are in, the kits look fairly decent for being resin (and I've never built one), just a few bubbles and a respectable amount of flash to clean out. Those tracks look intimidating though!
And let me say, unless you're one of the horde building a TK tankette, you won't truly appreciate how tiny these things are.
First up, the Kits with a TKS to show the scale. The boxes are small and professional.
The RPM TKS, a simple little kit, but still quite enjoyable. I do hope that someone does produce new molds for the subject though. Perhaps you could transfer the RPM armored top to one of the other Carden-Lloyd style chassis thats out there? This is my first time using Tamiya surface primer and I'll say that I do like using this product. I have a little more gap filling and filing though it seems.
Showing the C2P artillery tractor in all of its glory with its one page instructions.
Another shot of the C2P.
And the gun, which came with a vacu-formed gun shield and a resin one as well. Detail isn't terribly great on the shield, but hey, at least its out there right?

Hey Paul
I'm down for a Spanish Civil War campaign - most likely will go with an Italian Volunteer something.
I too prefer the early war year subjects. Lots more rivets...love the rivets!

I'd be in for that too, a very interesting conflict.

Paul, Thanks for comments. I have thought about using pastels to fade and blend the colors. For most of last week I have been battling bug with a cross between flu and pneumonia, luckily no fever. So no progress with any builds.

Hi Guys,
I'm enjoying seeing everyone's progress so far. I finally got a chance to take a few photos of my gunnery ship build. Here's where I'm at so far:
I apologize for the poor photos. My lighting options are limited. I still have a lot of touch-up painting to do. I really suck at square doors and windows. I've got some 1/350 generic railings and naval figures I'm going to try. The kit is 1/400 so they may be too visibly over scale but it won't hurt to try. I'll mount the anchors and chains after the railing. I'm also going to attempt to add some rigging. I also still have the propellers and guards to add. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to use a stand or mount it in a water base. This little kit has been a fighter so far so we'll see how she turns out.
Comments greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John

You must have very good eyes and steady hands to work at that scale, John! Very nice work.

John, A technique I have used to paint in tight pots, to include corners of windows is to use a round toothpick. The sharp point lets you place and/or push the paint into tights spaces. Just make sure you blot off any blob of paint the toothpick may pick up. Don't use a flat toothpick as its tip is too large.

Jeff,
Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.

It sounds like there are at least a few of us who might be interested in a Spanish Civil War campaign. I've got a lot on my plate right now but if no one else has proposed one I'll get the ball rolling in a month or two. I had in mind a Hobby Boss T-26, 900 odd parts(!!!).

I would be in for a SCW campaign. Much material I have.

I tried a different technique for applying the rivets to the TK-3: I made a plan before I started I found that if I take strips of rivets (never more 6 or 7 at a time), slice the carrier film between individual rivets before placing in water, I had a easy time matching individual rivets against corresponding rivets on adjacent plates. This is much easier than trying to handle a tiny piece of paper and slide off the rivet. Where there were no adjacent rivets I could apply strips of rivets without cutting the film. I brushed on a coat of "Future" to seal them. Below are results.
I think they look much better than those on the TKS
