John, Nice vignette. Did you either score or roughly sand the wood base within area to be covered with cell-u-clay, before applying? If not, I highly recommend that procedure for future projects. The scoring gives something for the cell-u-clay, or your ground cover of choice, on which to gain a grip.

Despite the slight issue of the lifting base material, this likes like a winner vignette. The fencing and figures are a nice touch and greatly add to the scene. Sadly, I wish I could see it better as the images are a little dark on my monitors.

Okay, I finally have a bit of progress to show. This kit is proving to be what appears to be cursed. From my first progress post it has been tortuously slow and full of drama. The body more or less progressed with a normal assembly process, punctuated by judicious sanding and a touch of trimming in a few places.

However, the return rollers proved to be a doubly cursed affair. The paired rollers were barely 3 mm wide and .7 mm thick.It was a labour of determination to try to glue these two tiny parts together and indeed proved a challenge to hold the parts for assembly. But isn’t that why we model? In the assembly process I lost a part at least two times and both times spent almost an afternoon (along with help from my SWMBO) on the floor with MAG lights searching for the errant parts. After the second time conquering the linoleum monster I developed a methodology to assemble these pairs while on the sprue.

A sane person might have chucked this kit by this time but I persevered! After I got the first four pairs of return rollers made I decided to attach them to the tank. I figured it would be safe to hold the rollers with a pair of tweezers while I sued them onto the body. WRONG! Tweezers have a way of causing small parts to catapult out of their jaws and find the nearest “carpet monster” in this case. Again, half a day of on and off searching until my SWMBO found the elusive pair.

The above was not the last time there arose a issue with a pair of these return rollers but I am beginning to suffer from a version of writers’ cramp from relating the occurrences of these wheels in this “tome”. Finally a few progress images (yes, I appreciate a bit of “clean-up will be required with this kit). Lets just hope that further progress is less stressful?

Nice progress, guys. Almost finished building turrets, there are several things and take to the hull, there's a lot to improve.

Pawel, I may have missed if you mentioned earlier, but what company made the metal barrel you installed in the turret? I is great improvement over any plastic barrel.

This product Aber, is great.

John - I love you little diorama. You're right, the figures add context, scale and help to tell a story. Great job!

Jan - I'm glad you are able to stick with your build. I know the frustration of tiny bits that defy attempts to hold on to them while assembling, sanding or painting them. Keep at it, we're with you!

Looking good Pawel! Jeff is right, the metal is a huge improvement over the kit part. I'm doubly glad as I have the ABER set for my long delayed 7TP project.

Yes, that one looks like a good start. Just make sure to choose markings to match those that would have been used in the Polish campaign. These early Panzer 1s would also have been used in training before the time we are focusing on.

I too am going to build a 7TP and will try using a set of metal Fruils made for the Soviet T-26. We will see if they fit . . .

Quick update on 7TP .
I struggled a little as most of the parts were sanding stick lovers .
In addition fitting on suspension elements wasn't ideal. Definitely it's not Tamiya kit .

So here's the completed suspension and part of a hull:


One small warning message - when you're assembling the bogey (I hope I called it right ) be aware that part marked on the next photo causes lot's of trouble as it seems to bee too long to fit. (btw this bogey assembly was created by some sadistic engineer - it took me almost an hour to make all four bogeys look decent, because when closing two parts of bogey "chassis" you need to fit 4 wheels and two beams like that marked on photo):






Paul, here you have a photo of the particular track sprues from RPM set. They aren't workable like Friul metal tracks, but at least you can do more or less the same assembly like with Dragon's Magic Tracks, if this is what you asked.



As for Friuls I cannot say if they fit, but I saw somewhere pics of metal tracks from Masterclub for T-26 and they fitted good for 7TP and also Vickers E. So I think you'll be fine with Friuls as well.

I have just finished putting the decals on my Revell Pz.Kpfw 35(t) and will be starting the weathering soon. Clayton good to know it was dusty in Eastern Europe in September '39.



Broke the tow rope in trying to bend it and put it on the tank so will be needing to replace that
