Cockpit done though you really can't see much of anything. The two fuselage halves must have come from different molds...they didn't line up too well. Glue and clamps then sandpaper and some putty (still to be sanded).

Those fit issues are kind fo unexpected on an Eduard kit...

You'll probably spend more time applying decals to the plane than building the plane in the first place!

You're probably right! There are a lot of decals in this kit.

Landing gear and some PE done.
I replaced the kit's terrible axle with a length of brass tube and rod. Clean up of the wheels was an exercise in patience as the sprue nubs were huge and there's just a lot of flash on everything.
Propellor pin will be another challenge...it hasn't been cemented (hence it appears rather wonky right now) and I think it may be way too big. We'll see later on in the build.

A bit of the basic, but nice PE.

Welcome, John! Looks nice. How many parts are in that kit?
Sorry to hear about the struggle, Mike! I still think this is going to look very nice once done so I'm sure it's worth the effort.

Here is some progress on my egg plane:
Interior and small parts painted:

Assembled, primed, white paint and Emsal (Future equivalent) on:

I placed two decals for the pilot and cockpit and they won't stick too well. I hope it will get better on the outside...

The decaling session ended in a complete fiasco

So I tried making the best out of it

That's actually a pretty effective camo job for a flying egg!

Hi John, you've a nice Braille Panther there!
Do pay close attention once you start fitting n mounting the tracks. I think the Dragon tracks for this kit is short. Had to do some gentle stretching of the tracks when I was building this same model kit. And even with the stretched tracks, I suffered concaving of the track portion that goes around the rear idler wheel. I found out that it was best to use CA glue to attach the Dragon tracks to the roadwheels and get them to stay in place when I was getting them to sag. Hope this helps!

I'm in with something I have had for awhile (been in the stash for about two years) and been waiting to build, a Hobby Boss Mi-17 (92 parts)

Got this far

Nice choice, ComradeMP! The camo scheme and decals on the box look great. Is this the one you're going to depict?

Christian - I love the polka dots on your egg plane but where is the girl? She was the best part of the boxtop art . . .

Thanks Paul! The girl seems to be a major disappointment for most modelers... There is none in the box! I've read several reviews where people were sure it is included with the kit but it isn't in fact.
