Hi,
With the 500+ campaign on its finish line and the 750+ ramping up I was thinking of a counter part to those campaigns that would allow for a more relaxing, quick build.
The campaign would revolve around simple kits with less than 150 parts. No limitation on scale, era or subject.
Here is the draft for the rules:
1. Part count of 150 or less
- AM parts are counted if placed on the vehicle
- scratch-built parts are counted as sensible sub-components (e.g single rivets are not counted but riveted panels as a whole do)
2. Any land or hybrid vehicle, any scale, any era
3. Partially started kits are not allowed provided the simplicity of such kits
4. Posting your builds in other campaigns IS allowed
5. You must upload an image of the kit before starting as an evidence of its state along with evidence of the date the image was taken on (newspaper of the day, website with the current date, a piece of paper with the date on it, etc)
6. At least two WIP photos (the more, the better) need to be uploaded along with the finished piece appearing in the campaign gallery. Separate building blogs or threads are welcome and encouraged.
7. Definition of a finished model: the model that has been completely assembled and painted (weathering is optional).
What do you all think?

I like this a lot. I'm in. Are figures allowed, or only vehicles?
Cheers!

Great! Thanks, Matthew!
Also, in case you already have an idea of what you plan to build, let us know. Personally, I wouldn't be able to name any 1/35 tank kit that would be a fit, to be honest.
I'm currently planning one of these kits from my stash:
Revell 1/72 Panzerhaubitze 2000
Revell 1/72 SpPz 2 "Luchs"
Revell 1/72 Leopard 2 A5 KWS

The only 1/35 scale kits I have that might fit the number criterion are Tamiya's Gama Goat.. and MENG's pick-up trucks and GAZ "Tiger".
I guess there's always Modelcollect with their new 1/72 scale stuff... OR, I just thought of this.. Tamiya's latest 1/48 scale Japanese Type 10 tank.. Jim did a quick build video on it... It has link and length tracks, so I don't think those would add up to much.. will have to check that.
I have a couple of HobbyBoss Land Rover's.. I wonder if those would work?
Any other ideas?
Hisham

I have a 1/72 UMT T-28 tank on Rails that should fit the bill, even with the PE parts it can't be 60 total...

If it doesn't have to be something military, I have a couple of 1/32 scale civilian cars I've been thinking about building as derelict, rusted out vehicles.. they are kits by Arii, I believe, and each kit can't be more than 20 parts total... I can build one of them in a half hour.. then spend the rest of the time practicing some painting and extreme weathering

@Chris: I'm a bit torn on the figures thing but since these are easy builds, why not. So, yes, figures are also allowed.
@Hisham: The car kits are an excellent idea and I think this is exactly the kind of work this campaign is about: quick builds that are easy to put together but will still render a model one can be proud of. Also, the Tamiya 1/48 line is something that might fit.
@Clayton: Sounds good! Can we count you in?

Hi, Cristian:
I have a 1/35 Skala Hitler Line dio in a box that's maybe 40 parts so that with some figures should be a fun, quick build.
Cheers!

I'm in with Tamiya's Pz II kit #35009. I believe it's around 100 parts. Can anyone confirm this? I won't be building the figures, so that can be subtracted.

There are pdfs of the instructions on the interwebs - I counted 75 or so pieces. That excludes the poly caps for the wheels so you're looking at about 90 I reckon.

A quick preliminary search of my stash turned up these little guys.. in addition to a couple of motorcycles and Vespa's. I suppose the UAV doesn't fit, so I'l choose one, or more, of the others depending on the time frame.
It'll be interesting experimenting with new weathering techniques on the cars

It looks like at least a few of the DML Paks would be under if one stuck with the gun. For example;

I'm glad the idea sparked so much interest! Thank you all!
@Chris: Sounds good! Never heard of that kit before, to be honest.
@Flavio: Does that mean you'd be interested in joining if this takes off?
@Dustin: Yes, the Pz. II kit seems to be a good fit. A classical kit by all means!
@Andras: Glad to have you aboard!
@Hisham: All those kits look good to me. The drone also seems to have way less than 150 parts, even if you count the figure.
@Dana: Welcome to your first campaign!
@WornDriveWheel: Does it mean you'll be joining with that kit?
@Ken: Great choice! Good you have you join!
@Tat: Great to have you with us!
Concerning the timeline, I was thinking of a start date beginning of December with a run time of around 4-6 months. Of curse, this will all depend on the campaign managers, in the end.
We have the following people interested in the campaign so far:
Matthew (Northern_Lad)
Chris (ironelf)
Hisham
Clayton (ClaytonFromEllijay)
Dustin (Thirian24)
Andras (spongya)
Dana (BigD1961)
Ken (69mudbone)
Tat (tatbaqui)
Unclear yet:
Flavio (Templario)
WornDriveWheel (johhar)
That means we only need one more then we can submit for approval!

Does anyone know how many parts the venerable Tamiya Hanomag has - not including the figures? I fancy building one of those. It will be a blast from the past. Am having trouble tracking the part count on the Internet. If this won't fly I'll have to build something in 1:72 scale and perish my eyes even more...
