Some updated stuff. The main building is finished, and in the next few days I'll finish the PE too.

Evening folks

This will be my entry for the campaign. As per Revell the kit has 124 parts and i'll be building it along with its big sister the 1/35 scale Panther.

Cheers

Only thinking about the PE for the Fennek makes me shiver, Martin! Looking good!

Glad to have you join in, Raj!

eMan, the red-black contrast looks great!

Looking at building this, but if I can't find some crew and a few accessories, I might change this.

Martin, I cannot imagine dealing with that PE in 1/72, it boggles my mind, you are a far braver man than I...

Here's my entry, a Bandai Star Wars 1/72 scale First Order SF Tie Fighter from the Force Awakens movie. It has only 54 parts in total and since its a snap kit, it should go together really quick. Some parts will be painted but otherwise it should take no more than a day or two to get this done.

I was looking for something to build in the stash this afternoon and found an Italeri Opel Blitz that I'd forgotten that I'd got. It's destined for my Hungary dio and as I'm waiting for the final building at the right price I can't start on the street yet so thought I'd build this instead It's got a part count of 109 so I'm okay on the 150 or less. I know I've already built one kit for the campaign but as there's plenty of time left and it's a low part count I thought as I'm building it anyway I'd add it in here .

The plan is to load it up with oil drums and use the Miniart "soldiers with oil drums" set unloading rather than loading, to refuel a couple of King Tigers or Panthers (I've not decided which type yet as I've got a couple of Panther G's built that just need weathering and two KT's that could probably do with a makeover as I built them about 12 years ago and I've improved since then fortunately)in the street. I've been collecting oil drums to do this and now have a sizable stash so game on! I'll put some pics up when I've got somewhere...

I made quite a lot of progress yesterday after I started. I hadn't intended to do quite so much but after I'd gone to bed last night the phone went and because I've got one in the bedroom it woke me up. Then my insomnia kicked in so ended up spending all night modelling while catching up on the last series of "The Walking Dead". I would have preferred some quality sleep however lol. So far it's gone together quite well despite a lot of sink marks on the inside of the box on the back. In theory once the oil drums are in they shouldn't be seen but I didn't want to risk it so had to fill and file them all. I'm not however looking forward to doing the cab as the locating notches don't look too great so we'll see. I've weathered the inside of the cargo box to look suitably battered from having heavy oil drums manhandled about on the surface as that would have damaged the paint quite a lot on both the wood and metal framework of the flatbed even though not much of it will be seen. It's surprising how quickly they go together with low part counts lol. Hopefully more to follow later.

I've brush painted it so far but I'm going for three colour cam on it so once it's all together I'll get the airbrush out then do the weathering on the outside.

Great build everyone!

Here is an update on my Melusine... and it also allowed me to try my new camera! :-)

Built is 90% finished, I applied the primer to the interior. i'm planning on leaving the canopy/armored cover open.

Cheers,

Chris

That was a very productive night, Karl! Working at night, watching a movie AND getting this much done; you must be a multitasking expert!

Chris, this is shaping up great! The more I look at this the more I want to build one myself. I had them on my wishlist for a long time by now.

A bit more done but not a huge amount as I slept for England after my night building session. Cristian, this is why I model at my computer desk as I can watch a film or something while I'm modelling lol. It's also useful for checking things on the net while I'm beavering away. Well, the main part of the body is built now so just the cab to do. Once that's on then the airbrush can come out. Weathering and then fill it up with oil drums so about halfway there now. Lets see how I get on with the cab seeing as it's gone together easily enough so far... Famous last words probably lol.
