Thank you, sir! I recently got a book on the plane that has some great (and explanatory) pictures and diagrams, and it has helped me to understand the structure far better than I had. The problem now becomes: How much detail is too much detail?! If I was going to be a real stickler I'd have to rip out the whole interior and start over--but THAT ain't happenin'! No, I'm just gonna have some fun with this. I have a Smer Amiot 143 in my stash; maybe in a year or two I'll build that--and REALLY go to town!

Another week has passed and more progress has been made.
Remember that MM Acryl mix of baby poop tan?



Well here she sits all base coated in sand.





MM Acryl Field Drab, straight from the bottle. I chose to hand paint the pattern.

First coat.





Second coat.





I used a mix of Vallejo "Yellow Tan" and "Sand Yellow" for the Earth Yellow patches.





I'll be using Vallejo "Black Gray" for the crow's feet.

These are up next.

Finally got the pilot's cockpit cemented into place. Now I have to backfill the instruments and equipment, throw some paint on it, and see if I can mash the two fuselage halves together...but I'm still a LONG way from doing that!

AgentG - M60 coming along super. The excellent paint job really helps emphasize the details on your build. Looking outstanding and anxious to see the finish.

Zhivago - Your attention to the smallest of details and workmanship are very impressive. Almost a shame so much of the work will be covered up. Thanks for the opportunity to admire them.

This Campaign is really bringing out some really outstanding builds. Keep 'em coming.

Couldn't agree with you more on the M60. It really does look great! As for the Amiot and the disappearance of detail, well, I'll know it's there. And that's enough for me. Besides, I'm really having fun doing it. I'd never attempted a scratch build of this extent before and I'm learning a lot in the process. Between research, a couple of new tools (which I LOVE to get), and plastic stock, I've probably spent $100 on this $10 model. For whatever reason, I've always loved this plane and I don't begrudge a penny that's gone into it.

another small update on my M4, had time to apply the archer decals and then seal the tank with a mat finish. for the most part, I've done what I set out to do with it in the DOG campaign by taking this Dog of a kit and make it look better. Now I'm going to try my hand at painting the tracks, and at weathering with some pigments and such. might go well or might go horribly wrong

Curious as to how you apply the Archer dry transfers -- I myself have not been so successful as there's always a bit here and there that just won't leave the carrier. With waterslides I have a glossy surface to work on, so would dry transfers need to be on a flat surface?

That Shermy really, really came alive after all the work Casey.

Tat, while I always had good luck with dry transfers on a flat finish, I never really applied them to a glossy surface.

One tip I received a while back. I was told to cut my transfer out and just before applying it to the model, hold it to a light bulb or other source of heat. This helps with adhesion and transfer of the image. I now use a LED light at the bench so I moved an old lamp close for this purpose.

Karl, love the interior detail work, remind me what kit that is. I hope to tackle an aircraft interior scratch build someday, and yours is some serious motivation.

@Tat unfortunately i have no tips to give for dry transfers as these were some of archers waterslides from their AFT US 6th armor division M4 (early) 3 tank sheet that they have printed by cartograf. got these ones as I too am not comfortable with dry transfers.

I am going to enter my M1116 Guardian armoured personnel carrier, which will, one day, represent a vehicle of the US national guard. I will post a photo asap - just need to get a good sunny day to snap the first picture! This has been lying around for a while so it will be great to finally get it finished.

Watching all of these builds is really making me miss my bench. Only another week and a half, till I get back to the Challenger.

Wayne-kudos on a very striking paint job. Eye-catching, visually interesting, and different from the standard green/brown fare.

Wayne, nice finish! I would never have guessed that was not an airbrushed finish.

Knocking off another shelf queen for the Hangar Queen campaign, so I'm not sure what's up next for here.. I probably ought to START something for sci-fi though...

Panda's ancient and crummy 1/35 Uh1D..I will probably not add the DML door guns or pilot figures.
